Operated by - The airport has been operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey under a lease with New York City since 1947.

After the September 11, 2001 attacks, JFK was one of the first airports in the United States to be temporarily closed.

My flight would be leaving 2pm tomorrow (tuesday) for Korea, when should I arrive at the airport? The lastest?

thanks

At noon, the latest.

I will be flying on a Delta flight to a location overseas. What is the EARLIEST that I can check in with my family? Can we leave the airport after we check in?
Thank you!

You can check with Delta as early as 24 hours in advance. And after that you can leave the airport - just don't forget to come back for your flight:)

Please help:
My Mom is flying Aeroflot from Moscow to JFK, and has connection flight on Delta. She only has 2 hours between her flights... She probably needs to get her luggage and go through customs and passport control, re-check her luggage, get to another terminal? and get boarding passes at Delta... What are the exact steps? Does she need to take a train to another terminal? Or could she just walk between terminals? Aeroflot is terminal 1? and Delta is 2 or 3?

Thank you very much!

She can just walk fro T1 to T2 - it is only 5 min walk.
I am pretty sure Aeroflot will give her(in Moscow) a boarding pass for her Delta flight.
After she lands , she will go through immigration, then she has to pick up her bags and go through customs.
After she exits the customs she can go to Aeroflot connecting flights counter where they will transfer her bags onto her next Delta flight.
Then she has to exit the building and walk to her right - Terminal 2 is easy recognizable and marked.
There she can:
-obtain a boarding pass if she does not have one;
-check-in the bags if she did not do that with Aeroflot;
And the last step is(after all this is done) to go through security and look for the gate for her Delta flight.

Hi, I was wondering how early before a flight I must check in at JFK. I just finish a trip at 3.00pm in New York and will head straight to JFK. My flight is due to leave at 6.55pm for Los Angeles before heading internationally to Australia. If i arrive at 5.00 pm at JFK, will this be enough time to clear through everything and get on the plane? I heard that if it is a domestic flight you don't need the full 2 hours.

Generally the time that you have should be enough but I will advise you to give yourself a little bit more time(30-45min), just to be on the safe side.

I will be arriving at JFK on American Airlines flight 141 from Heathrow at 10:50 pm, what terminal will I be arriving at?

As my connecting flight to Miami is not till 05:45 am the next morning, can you tell me whether there are any restaurants / cafes / shops open during the night?

Also, what terminal will I be departing from to Miami (flight American Airlines 1165).

Many thanks for your help.

You will be arriving at T8 and departing also from T8.
The only open place overnight is a coffee shop at T4, first floor.

Is there like peter pan bus that comes from the airport to Hartford, CT?

No, you'd have to go to Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan to get a bus to Hartford, or Penn Station for a train. Bus is much cheaper and runs more often to Hartford.
