I am flying into JFK in november. I want to take the airtrain but want to make sure I get on the right subway. I need to get to 120 west 44th st Can someone please advise. Also if I want to take this back to the airport what is the best way to do that and how much time should I allow.

Take Airtrain from your terminal to Jamaica Station. Then take the E subway to 42nd St/Port Authority. Walk north on 8th Ave. to 44th St., turn right and go a block and a half, your address is between 7th & 6th Aves. Travel time is a little over one hour and you can take the same route back, E subway to Sutphin Blvd/JFK. If you prefer the shuttle bus back to JFK you can take the NYAS espress bus from Port Authority Bus Terminal or walk over to Grand Central Station (42nd & Park) and catch the bus there, travel time about one hour.

Hi Guys

I am flying to JFK on a weekday and I am from Malaysia.

I need to get to wilmington delaware.

Could anybody tell me the most reasonable way to get there

Mike

its hard to tell. one option is train, second is car. its about 2 hours form NYC to Wilmington in normal weather by car. but considering what is happening outside I think you will need 5 hours or more if you have a car. if you do not everything is closed at this point. good luck

Sojourn,

On your arrival at JFK take the airtrain to Jamaica Station (in Queens). Catch the Long Island Railroad to Penn Station Manhattan. At Penn Station catch a Amtrak train to Wilmington. It should take you about a hour to get to Penn Station and the Amtrak train takes another hour and 25 minutes to Delaware. Check Amtrak for schedule of trains to Wilmington, Delaware.

Take Airtrain from your terminal to Jamaica Station, transfer to Long Island RR or E subway to Penn Station. From there take Amtrak (Northeast Corridor or Acela-more expensive) train to Wilmington.

I have a 10 hour layover at JFK. Is there anything close that I could go see or do? Any recommendations on how to spend that LONG layover...? ;)

thanks!

You could get to Manhattan in a little over one hour from JFK by LIRR from Jamaica Station (take Airtrain from your terminal). LIRR will take you to Penn Station-midtown-34th St. E subway from Jamaica runs along 50th St. and then south on 8th Ave. The 42nd St. stop is close to Times Square. Most subway lines are accessible from Penn Station or just a few blocks away to take you anywhere. Just remember travel time back to JFK is at least one hour and you need to be back two hours prior to departure for check-in and security. Get yourself a subway map, the E and LIRR will get you to/from to Jamaica and Airtrain, the A (Far Rockaway only) will get you to/from Howard Beach where there is also Airtrain access to JFK.

There's nothing to do around JFK other than going to other terminal (there's 8 of them) and check what to do around there.. I know there are some really good shopping locations inside the airport but other than that, that's pretty much it.. There's a mall maybe 4 miles away from the airport but it's not that good.. If you want to go to the city it will cost you more than 40 dollars to take a cab and the subway sucks to take it from JFK... ur bettet off just staying there drinking some beers.

Can you give me the approximate time it takes to go through customs when arriving into JFK for a citizen from Wales on a flight from London?

Resubmitting question about time to get through customs at JFK on flight from London. Person is a citizen of Wales

Average time for that is about 30-50 mins.
JFK_E

the process generally takes 30-45 minutes but can take longer during heavy traffic periods.

Hello!I'll arrive in Terminal 1 from Moscow, Russia at 5:00pm and the next flight is from Terminal 8 to Columbus at 8:00pm. Tell me please is this time enough taking into account customs inspecton and receiving of the luggage?
Thanks in advance!
Waiting for your reply!

You should have enough time.
