History - Construction of the airport began in 1942 with modest ambitions. Only 1,000 acres (4 km²) of land on the site of Idlewild golf course were earmarked for use. The golf course provided the airport's original namesake, Idlewild Airport. First commercial flights began on July 1, 1948. The airport was formally dedicated as New York International Airport on July 31, 1948. It was re-dedicated on December 24, 1963 as John F. Kennedy International Airport, following action of the Mayor and Council of the City of New York, and a resolution of the Commissioners of the Port Authority. After the September 11, 2001 attacks, JFK was one of the first airports in the United States to be temporarily closed.

question about Terminal 4
I am flying out of Terminal 4 on 4/1, flight# SQ025 at 8:35 PM. Meanwhile, my friend is flying from Denver on flight #DL1312 at 5:27 PM also on 4/1. Is there a chance his Delta flight lands in terminal 4 so that we can meet there? Please let me know. Thank you.

dogs coming as checked baggage with Delta
I am meeting Delta Flight 127 Madrid, Spain to JFK on 4/2/2012. There will be several Spanish rescue dogs coming as checked baggage with a passenger on the flight. Where can I expect the dogs to actually arrive (Delta Baggage counter in the terminal ??) I would appreciate that info.

I arrive with Aeromexico from Mexico in terminal 1 on 04/03/12 at 4.15 pm and I need to go through inmigration and customs and i will collect my luggage, and after to check in at terminal 2 or 3 the flight number 4091 from Delta at 6.25 pm. is there enought time for to go through inmigration and customs check and get to the next departure?
what is the best way to get from T1 to T2/T3? Because I travel with a baby... is there available a electric cart service to pick up us and take us throughout the other terminal? Thanks in advance
