what is the best way to get to penn station from JFK? i'm hoping for a subway or train. preferably something on the cheaper side, but no bus.

Just take the AirTrain from your terminal to the Jamaica station ($5.00 fare) and hop on the LIRR (Long Island Railroad) right into Penn Station...

never been to JFK. I am flying in on delta, connecting through to Delta. My husband booked a connecting flight with a very tight layover. assuming planes are all on time what is my best course of action? are there things I need to know...such as: is there an upstairs/downstairs to the terminal... are boarding flights in one area and/or departing flights in another. any insider info would be fabulous!

Thanks!!!

Take the AirTrain from your terminal at JFK to the Jamaica station. From there you can take the Long Island Railroad to Penn Station.

Board the A line subway at 34th St.: $2
Transfer to the AirTrain at Howard Beach: $5
You will probably need to transfer A lines at Euclid Av.
You want to continue in same direction; ultimate subway (not you) destination is Far Rockaway.
You should buy a $7 card at 34th st station.

Hello,

I will arrive at JFK next monday at 2:00pm and need to travel to the Sunset Park Area - 45 st. Is it possible to take the subway? What would be the best connection?

Thanks a lot in advance!
Cheers!

If you mean Sunset Park in Brooklyn NY:
The R line (yellow) has a station at 45th and 4th very near Sunset. The D and M subway lines are also nearby and there is a transfer station between them all at 36th St. (or you could walk from there). I always take the AirTrain to the A line subway @ Howard Beach Station: $5 Airtrain, $2 subway fare. You will have to transfer from the A line to the other lines.

I do not know the best transfers. Check out the links.
Possibly: the A line to the F line at Jay St - Boro Hall; F line to R line at 4th Av- 9th St.

Hello

I am arriving from Paris to JFK 4th September at 22:50, but my destination is to Washington DC. The first flight to Washington is at 6 am. What is the best solution? 1-staying at night in the airport? is it safe? is it comfortable?
2- better to stay in a hotel? is there any hotel IN the airport?
3- Is it better to take the train Amtrak? how to get to the train station? should I book the train online now or is it on site?
4- is there any bus from NY to Washington directly from the airport and after midnight?
thank you for your help
