JFK International Airport AirTrain
AirTrain JFK is the train service that operates between JFK
International Airport, Long Island Rail Road trains and New York City Subway.
It also serves as an on-airport service connecting the airline terminals, rental
car facilities, hotel shuttles, and airport parking lots.
Air Train JFK has
3 routes:
- Howard Beach route
The Howard Beach route ends at the Howard Beach-JFK subway station. It stops
at Lefferts Boulevard (connecting transit services - B15 bus) for shuttle buses
to long term parking lots A and B and to airport employee parking.
Connecting transit services: A subway train, Q11 bus
- Jamaica Station route
The Jamaica route ends at Jamaica Station on the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR)
next to the Sutphin Boulevard/Archer Avenue-JFK subway station (to Brooklyn
and Manhattan or Queens).
Connecting transit services: E, J and Z subway
trains, Q6, Q8, Q9, Q20A, Q20B, Q25/Q34, Q30, Q31, Q40, Q43, Q44, Q60 and
Q65 buses
Both routes make a counterclockwise loop through the airport and stop at each
terminal.
- Airline Terminal route
The Airline Terminal route connects 6 terminal stations (Terminal 1, 2-3,
4, 5-6, 7 and 8-9). Route operates in the opposite direction, making a clockwise
loop.
All JFK AirTrain stations are wheelchair accessible. Howard Beach subway and
Jamaica Long Island Railroad stations are wheelchair accessible too.

If you do decide to go by train, do not confuse "Princeton" station with "Princeton Junction" station. Fares to Princeton are a little higher than fares to Princeton Junction, and the trip requires a connection to the shuttle train that runs between Princeton Junction and Princeton.
Take AirTrain on track 1
Take AirTrain on track 1 from terminal to Jamaica Station, transfer to either E subway or LIRR to Penn Station, transfer to NJ Transit-NE Corridor train to Princeton.

Please help. I need exact directions from JFK Delta Airlines to Airtrain to LIRR to take to Ronkonkoma Station on Long Island.
Follow signs in terminal to
Follow signs in terminal to Airtrain. Take Airtrain on track 1 marked "Jamaica Station". At Jamaica Station transfer to LIRR to Ronkonkoma. When you exit AirTrain you can purchase both Airtrain and LIRR fare on one ticket from the self-service machines. There are nice people there to assist you.

Taxi is fastest and most direct, will cost around $50 for both of you. You can take the Airtrain/LIRR ($11.75/$13.25 peak each) but will require a few transfers and some walking, here are directions: take AirTrain on track 1 from terminal to Jamaica Station, transfer to LIRR to Atlantic Terminal-Brooklyn, transfer to the Bronx-bound #2 or #3 subway four stops to Clark St, walk three blocks towards the river on Clark to Columbia Heights, turn right and go 1-1/2 blocks.

Taxi would be most direct, fare is on the meter about $50. By subway: take AirTrain on track 1 from terminal to Howard Beach Station ($5), transfer to inbound A subway to Jay St/Metro Tech, transfer to the Coney Island-bound F subway to 15th St/Prospect Park ($2.25).

AirTrain to Howard Beach station; then, Manhattan-bound "A" train to Hoyt-Schermerhorn station. At Hoyt-Schermerhorn, transfer to a Church Street-bound "G" train to 15th Street-Prospect Park station. Your destination should be less than a five-minute walk from there. Allow about one hour for the trip.

One end of Greenpoint Avenue
One end of Greenpoint Avenue is served by the Greenpoint Avenue station on the "G" line; the other end is served by the 46th Street station on the #7 line. On weekdays, the B24 bus runs along Greenpoint Avenue, connecting one end to the other.
From JFK, take the AirTrain to Jamaica, and then take a Manhattan-bound "E" train to Roosevelt Avenue/Jackson Heights station for the transfer to the #7; or take the "E" to Court Square/23rd Street station for the transfer to the "G". If you use a Metrocard to enter the subway at Jamaica, you will automatically get a free transfer to the B24 bus, if needed.

Yes, it's possible, but you would probably be more comfortable waiting inside the terminal itself. Perhaps you could agree to meet at the Travelers Aid desk -- or some other landmark -- inside Terminal 4.
