Your info is correct. You have just enough time - hopefully the flight from Dublin is not late.
Once you get you bags and pass customs head for the third floor and take Airtrain on track 2 - get off next stop and cross over to Delta building.

Here are some of most common options that you have in this case:

1. Taxi(the fast and easy one)
Yellow cab (from JFK to any point to Manhattan) costs flat rate of $45 + bridge toll($5.50). The price is for the whole taxi, not per passenger.

2. Public
Take Airtrain from any terminal on track 1 to Jamaica Station( be careful - on that track there are two alternating trains going to different routes; check the sign above the doors as the train arrives; the red colored sign is Jamaica one). Then take subway line E to Roosevelt Ave stop and transfer to line R going the same direction.Get off at 28th street stop. Cost - $7.25/passenger.
Walk north on Broadway one block and make right - the hotel would be half block away to the left.

3. Shuttle
There is shuttle(look for it at Ground transportation
counter or Welcome Center) that goes to any hotel in Manhattan for $18.50 per person.

Plan to arrive no later than 8:00am.

If you take the train on track 1 then the next stop would be Terminal 4. If you take the train on track 2(the train on that track goes in circle between the terminals) the next stop would be T1->T8->T7->T5/T6->T4... so it would take you 6-7 minutes to reach terminal 4.

The black line represents track 2 and the train on that track goes clockwise direction. The green and red lines represent track 1 and the trains on that track go counterclockwise direction.

When you face either side on the platform there are signs telling you which track is it.

Hi Thomas,
There are baggage handlers that can help her. If she is in wheelchair need the wheelchair assistant will help her.
Let her check as soon as she pass the customs if she can transfer the bags at connecting flights counter so she does not move them to T8 herself.

There is no transit procedures at JFK - they have to go through immigration, pick up their bags and pass US customs as everybody else coming on international flight.
