JFK International Airport AirTrain

AirTrain JFK is the train service that operates between JFK
International Airport, Long Island Rail Road trains and New York City Subway.
It also serves as an on-airport service connecting the airline terminals, rental
car facilities, hotel shuttles, and airport parking lots.

Air Train JFK has
3 routes:

  • Howard Beach route

The Howard Beach route ends at the Howard Beach-JFK subway station. It stops
at Lefferts Boulevard (connecting transit services - B15 bus) for shuttle buses
to long term parking lots A and B and to airport employee parking.

Connecting transit services: A subway train, Q11 bus

  • Jamaica Station route

The Jamaica route ends at Jamaica Station on the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR)
next to the Sutphin Boulevard/Archer Avenue-JFK subway station (to Brooklyn
and Manhattan or Queens).

Connecting transit services: E, J and Z subway
trains, Q6, Q8, Q9, Q20A, Q20B, Q25/Q34, Q30, Q31, Q40, Q43, Q44, Q60  and
Q65 buses

Both routes make a counterclockwise loop through the airport and stop at each
terminal.

  • Airline Terminal route

The Airline Terminal route connects 6 terminal stations (Terminal 1, 2-3,
4, 5-6, 7 and 8-9). Route operates in the opposite direction, making a clockwise

Hi I'm arriving on monday and I want to know how to get from JFK to VAndervilt YMCA

Where do I take the bus to go from JFK to Grand Central?

pls suggest for the best way from JFK airport to Danbury and how much time it will take to reach there.
Is shuttle is better from the airpot or taxi is fine...any idea about taxi or train fair?

There are a couple options. The normal way i get to Danbury from JFK is by Bus to Grand Central. Grand Central to Brewster station, since it is faster than taking the train into Danbury. Then have someone pick you up from there. The bus (New York Airport Express Service Bus) to Grand Central is $15, plus a tip if you'd like. The train ride (Metro North) to Brewster is between $11-15 if memory serves me right. This takes about 3 hours.
Another option is CT Limo, which is expensive (close to $90 plus tip). About 2 hours depending on traffic.
Taxi into Manhattan is $50 plus tip, then the $ for the train to Brewster or Danbury. About 2 hours, depending on traffic into the city.
Supposedly you can take airtran to the subway and then the subway to GC,I have not done that as of yet. Good Luck.

Hi,

Was wondering if I could take a city bus from Jamaica Station into Manhattan (instead of transferring to a subway or taking the LIRR)? I'd like to take the city bus and use it as a kind of 'tour' (see some sites on my way) to get to my hotel (Hilton Garden Inn Time Square) since I've never been to NYC before. Is this possible? Any idea how long it would take?

Thank you for any info.

I'm arriving international at Terminal 8 and catching a Jetblue flight to MCO at Terminal 5.

Is 50mins an impossible to catch the connection? Thanks a lot.

I was wondering if I would be able to take the airport air train to the ground zero site. If so, what do I need to do? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

A Train to Broadway-Nassau Street in Manhattan

how often are the trains running from the Jamaica station of the LIRR to the JFK terminal? How long should i expect to wait before another tram arrives?

The brochure on the Port Authority website gives you the schedule for the Air Train:
http://www.panynj.gov/airtrain/pdfdownload/jfk_brochure_english.pdf
There are displays at each station that tell you how many minutes until the next train.
