connecting international to domestic - how long do I neee?
Hi,
I am flying Virgin into JFK from England and then flying Jetblue from JFK to Ft Lauderdale in January. Can anyone advise how long I should allow for immigration and customs? ie: if flight from UK arrives 12.20pm, can I get a jetblue flight at 2.55pm , or should I go for the 3.40pm flight to be safe?

You should have time,
You should have time, customs/immigration normally takes 30-45 minutes. Jet Blue is in terminal 5, you can take Airtrain on track 2 to reach all terminals.

Take Airtrain on track 1 to Jamaica Station and then either LIRR or E subway to Penn Station. Exit to 7th Ave., hotel is across the street.

I am flying into Terminal 7 by Cathay Pacific and leaving in 2 hours to Columbus Ohio by AA 4146 from Terminal 8. After going through the security check at arrival, to where should I put my baggage please? Is there any AMERICAN AIRLINES counter in Terminal 7 for handling baggage? Thanks a lot.

After immigration/customs at T7 look for Cathay Pacific connecting flight counter where you can turn over the bags. They will transfer them onto your next AA flight.
You can also take the bags with you and have AA check them in at their terminal 8.
