After the September 11, 2001 attacks, JFK was one of the first airports in the United States to be temporarily closed.

Hi
me and my partner will be arriving at JFK from london heathrow on tuesday april 13th at 11.30. How long will it take us to go through all security checks and collect our luggage.
we will then need to get to manhattan w44th. what is the best/cheapest/fastest way to do this and how long will this take?
thanks

It takes between 20-40 minutes to go through immigration - baggage collect and customs.

Taxi is your first option - yellow cab (from JFK to any point to Manhattan) costs flat rate of $45 + bridge toll($5.50)
There is also an express bus called New York Airport Service(NYAS) that leaves every 20 min in front of every terminal - it costs $15.
By public transportation:
Take Airtrain from any terminal on track 1 to Jamaica Station( be careful - on that track there are two alternating trains going to different routes; check the sign above the doors as the train arrives; the red colored sign is Jamaica one). Take subway E to 42nd street/Times Square stop.Cost of the ride: $7.25 per person.

Hi,
I will arrivee at JFK tomorrow, 20.30. I'd like to know the best (i.e. cheapest but also safe) way to get to a private (bed and breakfast) address in Harlem. Is that possible with one of the shuttle buses?
Thanks a lot!
Best,
Lavi

Hi Lavi,
You can reserve the shuttle at Ground Transportation Counter(Welcome Center). There are two companies going to the hotels in Manhattan - Super Shuttle and Air Link. Both will charge you $18.50 per passenger. The service is door-to-door. Once you make the reservation you will wait up to 20-30 min for the driver to come.
Make sure you mention to the agents that you are going to the hotel(the rates to private address are higher).

On may 13 I will fly Delta from Amsterdam, through JFK
arrival time scheduled 12.50pm
I will have a connecting flight to Orlando scheduled on
16.35 pm (also Delta) Is this lay over time enough to go through immigration? Should I change terminal?
thanks

You have plenty of time. You will land at Terminal 4 and your flight to Orlando will be out of Terminal 3.

I found a flight from Tokyo to Jacksonville with a laypver at JFK airport. I will only have 3hrs 25mins to go through immigration (I am german) and change to La Guardia. Is the time realistic or might it take longer?

You should be OK with that time frame. What time you will expect to be at JFK?

Is there any place at the airport to buy an pre-paid sim card. I'm arriving from Argentina with American i have an unlocked cellphone, and I need to purchase only the chip. Thanks

Check with Hotel Reservation desks at arrivals hall - they may be the ones selling that.

I live in bridgewater, new jersey and want to know if there is a way to get to FJK using new jersey transit, whether there is a train or subway line that will take me into JFK from Bridgewater NJ. Thanks!!

NJ Transit will take you from Bridgewater,NJ to Penn Station in Manhattan.

From there you have a choice:
-either take LIRR to Jamaica Station(faster but more expensive)
-or take subway line E (direction Queens) to Jamaica Station.

At Jamaica Station take Airtrain to JFK Airport.

I would like to Know How much cost a check in rates from New York To São Paulo Brazil?

I'm looking at flights from Pisa to the US: is 1 hr 45 min long enough to get through customs and get to a domestic flight (JFK to SLC)?
