You should have time for
You should have time for sightseeing but be sure to return to JFK at least two hours before departure and allow at least one hour travel time to/from JFK, so that should leave you at least 5 hours to have some fun.

Bus or train from Providence to Manhattan. From Port Authority Bus Terminal take the Jamaica-bound E subway to Stuphin/JFK and transfer to AirTrain to all terminals. From Penn Station, take the E subway as above or LIRR to Jamaica/AirTrain (faster than subway).

Can somebody tell me what's the most convenient way from JFK airport to Holiday Inn Hotel (midtown)? Not too expensive, but not too many transfers would be great. :)

Is there any free shuttles from JFK airport to Days Inn Jamaica?? If there's any, at what time they leave? I'm arriving from Guayaquil at 8:50pm on Friday December 3rd.

Take AirTrain from terminal, any train on track 1, to Federal Circle. Follow signs to Hotel Shuttles. Days Inn has 24 hr complimentary shuttle; pick up at Federal Circle and drop off at all terminals.
