Terminal 4 Facts and Figures
The $1.4 billion T4 opened in May 2001. It is the cornerstone of a $10.3 billion revitalization program currently underway at JFK.
T4 is a model for air terminal technology for the 21st century.
T4 has signed agreements with approximately 50 airlines representing 40 countries, serving U.S. and overseas destinations around the world.
T4 occupies 165 acres, one of the largest properties of any terminal at JFK and is one of the largest air terminals in North America.
T4 was designed with the infrastructure to process between 10 million - 12 million passengers annually.
T4 operates the only facility at JFK's with 24 hour Customs and Border Protection, 365 days per year.
T4 houses the only internal station for AirTrain, JFK's light rail system connecting all JFK terminals, Long Term parking, Car rental and hotel locations, The NYC subway at Howard Beach and the LIRR at Jamaica Station.
T4 is home to 4 religious chapels- Catholic, Protestant, Jewish and Multi-faith, each with a dedicated Chaplain.

JFK vs. Newark
Planning a Saturday flight on Virgin Atlantic to London Heathrow. Never flown out of JFK. How long will it take to go through security and check-in? How long to go through customs on the way back (from London)? Would it be less hectic/crowded and less chance of flight delay if went from Newark instead? Thanks.

Prepare yourself for at least 30min. to go through security at Terminal 4,JFK(it depends on the time of flying). Clearing customs at Terminal 4, JFK could take you somewhere between 30 min to 1.5 hours , depends on the activity in there. I do not have info on how easy would be that task at Newark.

time through custom and immigration
Hello does anybody have an idea how long would it take to go through custom and immigration if flight arrive on Tuesday at 5:00 pm? I will need to catch a flight with Delta at 7:30 pm do you know if this will be at terminal 3? Thanks
It depends on which
It depends on which airline(Terminal) you are traveling. Expect min 30 min. which may extend to 2 hours for busy Terminals. Delta operates out of 3 terminals now - Terminal 2, Terminal 3 and Terminal 4, depending on your destination.

arriving with Aeroflot at 5:00 pm connection flight will be at 7:30 pm Delta airline to PDX, any info in witch terminal would it be than? also to get my boarding pass for Delta after clearing immigration and customs where could I do this?

Aeroflot is arriving at
Aeroflot is arriving at Terminal 1. At that time is pretty busy at T1 so expect 30 min to 1 hour to go through immigration and customs. Hope Aeroflot flight will be on time. Delta to PDX will be at Terminal 2 or 3. Not to worry - those two terminals are connected and they are located just next to Terminal 1 ( 5 min walking distance).
Once you pass immigration and customs, there is "Connecting flights" counter, where you may transfer your bags and obtain your Delta boarding pass. Exit Terminal 1, walk to your right to the next building and up the ramp to the second floor - that would be Delta, Terminal 2. Go through security check-point and look at your boarding pass for the gate number.Enjoy your flight!!!

Hi, I change my flight date to the 7th of March I'll be arriving on Aerosvit, do you know what terminal this flight arrive? and than how to get to Delta to catch my next flight to PDX at 7:30 pm that same day?

Aerosvit is arriving at T4. Take Airtrain for one stop to T2/T3, where Delta is located.

luggage check in
I think Delta charge $25 dollars for the first piece of luggage than $35 for the second one. am I going to be able to pay this in terminal 2/3? or do I need to go out and do it on the Delta counter and than go back to the terminal 2/3 ? Thanks in advance.

I have a question about the transportation between terminals I am going to arrive at the terminal 4 and then I have a connection to other flight but this depart from the terminal 8 so I need to know if there is a sort of transportation between them and how can i do to get it ?
