JFK Airport Parking Information
You can use two different types of parking at JFK airport:
Long-Term JFK Airport Parking
Located at Lefferts Blvd, 4 miles from CTA
AirTrain services link parking with the terminals.
Parking rates
$18 for up to 24 hours
$6 for each 8-hour period over first 24 hours
Daily JFK Airport Parking
Green parking - Terminals 1,2,3
Blue parking - Terminal 4
Yellow parking - Terminals 5 & 6
Orange parking - Terminal 7
Red - Terminals 8 & 9
Parking rates
$3 for the first half hour
$6 for up to 1 hour
$3 for each additional half hour, up to $33 maximum each 24-hour period

My daughter wants to go to the airport to see off her boyfriend...........he is leaving from terminal 7. From what i have read on here orange parking daily is where I want to go...can we park go inside and hang out for a bit with him. How long will he need to go through customs before his flight....he has a 9:30 pm flight what time should he get to airport? What time should he make his way to customs.? not really sure how this all will work.
You need to be 2-2.5 hours
You need to be 2-2.5 hours in advance at the terminal. He can clear security(not customs) at 8:50pm the latest. At that time the TSA lines are not that big so he would be inside in 5-10 mins.
You can be with him all the time until he enters the sterile area through TSA checkpoint.

I am leaving n.j.on 9/18/10 early morning, is the lon term parking before or after the airport? Also, how long is the travel time to terminal 5.. Thanks
As you approach the airport
As you approach the airport follow signs for long term parking (near Lefferts Blvd.). Take the Airtrain from the parking area to all terminals (no charge), takes about 10 minutes.
How do you know if their is
How do you know if their is availability in a daily lot before coming to the airport...I have driven before and the lot is full.

Sometimes its a crapshoot. There's always parking available in the long term lot.
handicap parking
I am dropping my son off at terminal 4 for a 5:45 Aer Lingus flight. I want to park my car close enough to use my wheelchair. Where can I park?
Follow the signs for the
Follow the signs for the Blue Parking Lot - it is the closest one.
Blue parking serves T4.

What is the short-term/dailing parking availability at the Red Parking lot on a Thursday afternoon?
What is a good alternative if Red is full?
I'm dropping of my daughter and wish to stay for 2 hrs or so.
Those parking lots get full
Those parking lots get full very rarely. In case that happen you can always use one of the neighboring parking lots(like the Orange one for T7 or the Green one for T1,T2,T3) and then take the Airtrain over to T8.

No telling what the availability may be at any given time. If Red is full try Orange or any of the other short term lots and take Airtrain between terminals.
Best place to park for pick-up: FinAir (helsinki) 4pm arrival
Any recommendations for arrival time and parking during the week? Picking up someone from international flight coming on FinAir around 4pm? Where can I wait? Luggage Claim? Thanks.

Yes, Finnair is at T8.

Finnair is normally terminal
Finnair is normally terminal 8 but double check the arrival terminal anyway. You can wait on the arrivals level, international arrivals will claim their bags before going through customs and you can meet them when they exit customs.
