And what about the custom? My baggage will be checked in to the last destination, Atlanta. I just will have to give to the custom authorities my custom declaration? Or I could simply go through green corridor if there is nothing to declare?

Thank you JFK_E. I thought that for example US citizens and first time arrived immigrants have to go to different places and get different processing. If it's the same place, OK, I just will have to hurry.

There is a different procedure for US green card holders entering US first time. You will be held longer(it could be up to 3 hours) until immigration officers clear the formalities. Saying that, I think two hours will NOT be enough for you to transfer.
Even the bags are checked through the last destination(ATL) you still have to pick them up in order to proceed through customs. Then you can recheck them in again(either at connecting flights counter or regular check-in counter)

Thank you VERY MUCH for your detailed answer!

im traveling from Mexico to Germany with a stop in JFK. I arrive at terminal 1 n then my flight to Germany leaves from terminal 4. i always have really bad luck with my luggage no matter how many hours i have for the connection, i want to take it out and check in again then i might have better chances to actually get my bags in Germany. would this work? im tired of dealing with airlines n after such a lont trip to not have anything to wear for several days. plese help...
thank you.

Yes, you can do that.

I'll travel in April from JFK terminal 1 to Rome with an Alitalia flight. I would like to know if there are duty frees for Estee Lauder and Clinique cosmetics located after the security checks at terminal 1. Thank you for the help. Best regards,

Yes, by Gate 5.

I will arrive at Terminal 1 with international fligth (Alitalia) at 2PM and I should take a Delta flight to Las Vegas at 4.30PM. Is 2 hours and a half enough to take the baggage, go through the customs for immigration, check in and drop the baggage again for the domestic flight?

Thank you!

You should be OK with any time period that is greater than 2 hours.

Is 2 hours and 40 minutes enough to transfer between terminal 3 and 1? The flight arriving at terminal 3 is domestic, but i will need to claim luggage and the flight from terminal 1 is international. Any thoughts?? Thank you.

You should be fine with any time span that is greater than 2 hours.

Hi, I'm french, I'll Arrive on Saturday from the flight A380 AF006 at 4H45 PM, is there a gate that is usually used for the A380 in terminal 1?? If such, what gate is it?

I want to travel as cheap as possible from JFK T1 next thursday (at around 5 pm), to Edison Hotel, 228 West 47th Street New York, NY 10036. I would like to know the cheapest way to get there by public transportation. Could someone please help me? Thank you very much in advance.

1.Take Airtrain from T1 to Jamaica Station;cost $5.
2. At Jamaica Station take subway line E to 42nd street(Time Square); cost $2.25.

Hotel Edison is located on 47th street between 8th Ave and Broadway.
