Terminal 5

Terminal 5 (formerly TWA Terminal)

Terminal 5 is sculpted as a symbol of flight, designed by Eero Saarinen in 1962.

Airlines that operate from JFK Airport Terminal 5 (gates 19-30)

Airlines Phone Numbers IATA Code
Cape Air (800) 227‑3247 9K
JetBlue Airways (800) 538-2583 B6

All Jet Blue flights come from terminal 5. In my opinion that is not enough time to reconnect unless you are lucky and the second flight is delayed by at least an hour which I hope it is in your case. Regardless you will have to recheck your bags and go through security all over again at JFK. Hope that helps.

You should be able to make it - Jet Blue from SYR arrives at T5 and all their departing flights are from T5 as well. Jet Blue will check all your bags through your final destination so there is no need to pick them up at JFK. No need to exit the sterile area and clear security again - as long as you have your boarding pass for your second flight just look for the gate.

Hi dear JFK employee,

my flight on jetblue arrive JFK (Terminal 5) at 1:00pm from Buffalo and my international flight (China Estern) terminal 1 depart at 3:35pm. I am not US citizen, I have visitor Visa.

Please help me with answering the questions:
1- Do I have enough time to catch up my international flight?
2- Do I have to declare on the Immigration & Customs?
3- What is the fastest way to go from T5 to T1

Thank you

1 Yes you do have enough time
2 No you dont have to declare on the Immigration & Customs
3 Take an air train on the 3rd floor and you will be on terminal 1 in minutes. It is fast and easy.

My daughter has a 5 pm flight out of terminal 5. I have to be there by 3 i guess but where should I park if I don't want to leave her alone until she has to board? how much is parking???

Parking is very expensive and about 20 dollars per hour. You can leave your car in the parking lot and accompany your daughter's boarding

I have a group meeting in terminal 5 for a trip, I need a specific meeting location to give out - what is a good place for a large group (about 80 people) to meet inside the terminal? Preferably near check-in.

Does every passenger flying from terminal 5 now have to go through the new body scanners, or pat downs? If so, how much time should one allow to get through security? Has the time increased?

Generally passengers are selected for the AIT scanner at random. You only get the full body pat down if you refuse the AIT scan. Best advice is to accept the body scan if selected, it only take 30 seconds, and you'll be on your way. Waits to clear security will increase if there are many people refusing the scans because the pat downs take much longer than the scan. Hopefully travelers will follow procedures regarding liquids and follow instructions to keep things moving to ensure everyone is properly screened as quickly as possible.

are there duty free stores at terminal 5? if yes, at what time are they opened?
