No, nobody is allowed at the gate. Customs exit is the place as far as you can go and meet her.

Transfer
Hi,
I land July 7 with CX at 13:10 from Hong Kong and then out of Term 6 with Jet Blue at 15:20. Is 2h10m enough time for the transfer (I have luggage)?

The time is enough. Jet Blue operates out of Terminal 5, not Terminal 6.

BA to Delta....
Hi I am travelling to JFK on Thursday 24th June on flight no BA0117 (into T7 I think), landing at 11:35am. I then need to take a delta flight 6743 (operated by Comair) to Norfolk VA AT 15:50. I am hoping you can tell me which terminal my delta flight leaves from and how I might get to it. Also should I collect my bags and re-check them? I will be making the return journey from Norfolk VA to London Heathrow via Jfk on the 1st July.

You do have to collect you luggage in order to go through US customs . Then recheck the bags at BA connecting flights counter.
Across the street and upstairs you will take Airtrain on track 2 and get off at T2/3 stop(5 min ride). Your Delta flight will leave out of Terminal 2.

Terminal 7 to Terminal 5
I am arriving in Terminal 7 on a Qantas flight QF107 from LAX on 5 July 2010 at 5:25pm with check luggage. Does that arrival time allow me enough time to make a Delta Flight to Boston at 6:59pm?

Transit from terminal 7 to terminal 8
How far is the terminal 8 form the terminal 7. We arrive to JFK with American Airlines next saturday at 14 am a take AA to San Francisco at 18.30 pm

First time solo international flight
Im sending my daughter back to the states and she is flying from Madrid to JFK to connect to a domestic flight. How far is the transition and does she have to board a train to get to the other terminal.

Thanks so much for all your input. My situation is similar to that of Parent 1; my brother is flying into JFK on CX888 (arriving at 07:05) to connect to AA4676 to Boston (departing at 11:10). Could you walk me through how my brother can get to the AA terminal? Is there a bag re-check belt so that he won't have to haul all his bags over to the AA terminal?

As soon as he clears customs he has to go to CX Connecting flights counter(it is located on the right after he exits customs) and transfer his bags onto his next AA flight. Then he will go across the street from T7 and upstairs to the Airtrain station. Let him take the train(it is free in this case) on track 1 and get off next stop - T8. There he will clear security and look for the gate for the AA flight to BOS.
He has enough time to transfer.
