Sept. 26. I am flying in on Delta at 05:30am from ROB to Amsterdam but passing through JFK and ATL for seven hours on the same day and leave for Amsterdam. Do I need a Transit VISA while connecting various Delta Flights to Amsterdam the same day?

Dec 1 I am flying in on United at 6:14am from SFO but need to make a connection to Air france at 9:45 for Morocco. I have luggage which I assume I need to get from my domestic flight in baggage claim and bring to international terminal/Air France to be checked for international flight. Is this too tight? How far is the domestic united flight from international and air france??? thanks for help

first , check with UA in SFO if they will check all your bags through - this way you don't have to pick them up at JFK.
United arrives at T7 and Air France departs at T1. Both terminals are linked via Airtrain on track 2. It takes only five minutes to transfer between those two terminals.
Your layover time is more than plenty to transfer even if you have to pick up the bags.

I am a US citizen arriving at JFK on Qatar Airways. I will need to take an onward flight with Delta to BWI. What procedure will I need to follow at JFK in regards to luggage (is collection necessary), security and giving luggage to the next flight? Are porters available for hire - I have a lot of luggage with me?

Luggage and transfer
I'm a US citizen arriving at JFK on Qatar Airways (from Doha). I am transferring to Delta and then flying to BWI. What procedure will I have to follow upon arrival re: baggage/boarding passes. I have a lot of luggage - can I hire a porter upon arrival at JFK for assistance?

Here are the steps:
- disembarking the plane;
- going through immigration(make sure you get on the line for US citizens).
- pick up the bags(here you can look for a baggage porter, they are standing by the baggage belts)
- going through US customs
- look for Delta connecting flights counter where you can transfer the bags onto your next flight; they can also give you a boarding pass and instructions how to get to the gate.

You will not be able to
You will not be able to access the gate area behind security without a boarding pass or gate pass. You can meet them when they exit customs on the arrivals level.

My sister-in-law is arriving from Russia at terminal 1 and is departing from terminal 6 to Buffalo. Is it possible to have a Russian speaking employee help her transfer to terminal 6?

I doubt it that Aeroflot will provide such a service. The best way is to write down on piece of paper what exactly she needs to do in English and let he show it to JFK employees along the way - they will guide her to her destination.
P.S. Jet Blue to Buffalo is at T5, not T6.

JFK transfer
I will be arriving on a Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to terminal 1. I need to transfer to a Cathay flight out of terminal 7. I assume that I will have to clear US immigration and customs when I land at terminal 1 even though I am connecting to another international flight - is this correct? Also what is the best way to transfer between terminal 1 and terminal 7. I will not have checked luggage.

Yes, you will clear customs on arrival from Frankfurt. When you exit customs proceed to Airtrain and take any train on track 1 from T1 to T7.
