Here are 3 of the most common options:
1.Yellow cab (from JFK to any point to Manhattan) costs flat rate of $45 + bridge toll($5.50)/for the whole taxi.
2. Take Airtrain from any terminal on track 1 to Jamaica Station( be careful - on that track there are two alternating trains going to different routes; check the sign above the doors as the train arrives; the red colored sign is Jamaica one). Then take subway line E to 42nd street stop and transfer to subway line 2 or 3 going uptown. Get off at 96th street stop. The hotel is located two blocks away going south on Broadway and then a block away going west on W94th street.Cost of the ride - $7.25/person.
See http://www.mta.info/nyct/maps/submap.htm
for reference
3.There is shuttle(look for it at Ground transportation counter or Welcome Center) that goes to any hotel in Manhattan for $18.50 per person.

We are a family of 4 and will arrive on JFK on July 29. Our hotel is in Queens and we are advised to take the Q3 bus from terminal 4 directly to the hotel. Afterwards we will go to Manhattan and stay 3 days in New York. We plan to use the underground a lot. What is the best ticket for us? 4 MetroCards that are valid for 3 days (do these tickets exist?) and is a MetroCard valid on the Q3 bus? If so, can I buy a MetroCard at JFK? Thanks for your help!

MetroCard is valid for Q3 bus.It is very hard to find MetroCards at JFK. The only place that may have them is the newsstand at T4 arrivals area.
There are 1 day MetroCard($8.25/per person) and 7 days MetroCard($27/per person) that may be suitable for you.
Check http://www.mta.info/metrocard/mcgtreng.htm
for more options.

Hello, we are a family of 5 and we will be arriving JFK next sunday. Could you please tell us 1/ the approximate cost of a taxi to Weehawken (Harbor boulevard, close to ferry)and whether we can be 5 in a taxi 2/ the best way by public transport to Weehawken ?
Thanks a lot !

Weehawken is located in NJ, right by the Lincoln Tunnel. Taxi/private car will cost you approximate $60 for the whole cab.
Check with the taxi dispatcher first if the taxi driver will take all 5 in one cab.
If not, you can reserve private car at Ground transportation counter(Welcome Center) located at each Terminal.
The difference between yellow cab and private car is only one: the yellow cab will charge you according to the meter reading while the private car will give you the cost as you book it.

By public transportation:
Take Airtrain from any terminal on track 1 to Jamaica Station( be careful - on that track there are two alternating trains going to different routes; check the sign above the doors as the train arrives; the red colored sign is Jamaica one). Then take subway line E to 42nd street stop. There locate Port Authority bus terminal and take New Jersey Transit bus to Weehawken.
The whole trip will cost you $9.80 per person($5.00-Airtrain+$2.25-subway+$2.55-bus).

I have to travel from JFK to Parsipani, NJ at around 4 pm in two weeks time. I will have a 23 kg bag. Could anyone tell me the best & economical mode of transport?

The best one is a taxi/private car....Economical is by public transportation (WITH A LOT OF TRANSFERS). LET US KNOW IF YOU NEED THE SECOND ONE...

How long does it takes betwwen JFK and LGA?

By taxi/car - 20 to 40 minutes depending on the traffic conditions.

hiya,

im planning a trip and may need to get a coach/bus from JFK airport to either North Carolina or RDU airport.

is this feasible and how much would it cost?

thanks alot.
Debbie.

There is no direct bus from JFK to the either place. You have to go from JFK to Port Authority bus terminal in Manhattan and get Greyhound bus from there. Let me know if you need details.

What is the best option to get from JFK airport to 55th St in NYC?

Thank you!!!

Any specific address? 55th street is pretty long street.

55th st,8th Av

Hey Anna,
Fastest way:
Yellow cab (from JFK to any point to Manhattan) costs flat rate of $45 + bridge toll($5.50)
Cheapest way:
Take Airtrain from any terminal on track 1 to Jamaica Station( be careful - on that track there are two alternating trains going to different routes; check the sign above the doors as the train arrives; the red colored sign is Jamaica one). Then take subway line E to 50th str. stop and transfer to subway C going uptown for one stop to 59th str. station(it is on 8th Ave). You will be four blocks away(going south on 8th Ave) from your address.
Another way:
There is shuttle(look for it at Ground transportation counter or Welcome Center) that goes to any address in Manhattan for $18.50-$25 per person.
