I am flying from JNB to JFK. Will I have to collect my checked luggage and go thru customs? I have a connecting JetBlue(domestic) flight. Is it faster to walk from Terminal 4 to Terminal 5 or use the AirTran? Thanks for the info!

Since you flying in international you have to get your bags and go through US customs.
Walking or taking the train - it would take you almost the same time to get from T4 to T5.

Is there any way to reach the desk of IcelandAir besides their 800#, which is not open on sundays.

Due to the increased inquires regarding many flights out of JFK here is the official website for JFK where you can check the status of the flights:

I will be arriving at JFK on JetBlue at 8:35 a.m. My flight to Johannesburg departs at 11:15 a.m on South African Airways. I have been in contact with JetBlue and all international baggage must be picked up by the passenger and rechecked at SAA. Is the enought time to arrive, pickup bags, recheck them and get to the SAA gate on time?

You have almost 3 hours and that is enough to transfer upon those conditions.

What is the name of the hotel in the airport?
and are there any resting/sleeping places at the airport? I arrive early morning but don't leave until 6:00 pm same day. Thank you

There are a lot of hotels around the airport(none on the premises) - you can get their names in the Hotels section of this website.

Hi, I am flying cathay pacific at 10.10 am on 30th July 2010. I am flying in to JFk through Jetblue and arriving at 7.08 am. Do I have enough time to retrieve baggage/check baggage/immigration before my cathay pacific flight?
Thank you.

The time frame is more than enough. Flying out international does not involve customs; the bags even can be automatically transferred onto Cathay Pacific( make sure you double check that with Jet Blue); so all you have to worry about is going(use Airtrain) to Terminal 7(home of Cathay) and going through security at T7.

Can you tell me if the Air France desk is manned? They are not answering the telephone.

Yes, it is. I will assume they are very busy given the current situation.

my parents are going back to india with emirates but before they have a flight from Charlotte to jfk they will reach there at 8 am( they have to collect there bags from terminal 4) and the next flight is 11 am, so they have to travel from terminal 5, with all the luggage ..in just 2 hrs ..or they need to travel a day before ..thanks in advance

Traveling from Terminal 5 to Terminal 4 is not time consuming - no more than 10 min(including walking to the stations) with Airtrain.

On June 6 I am arriving from Kiev (KBP) on Delta flight 89, connecting to ATL on Delta flight 61. The layover time is listed as 2 hours and 10 minutes. Is this enough time to clear customs, reclaim/recheck baggage and make connection?
I have read other posts that talk about Delta flights being in the same terminal, so it takes less time to connect international to domestic. How can I tell for sure if my arrival flight into JFK is truly Delta or a codeshare with another airline? I have travelled to Kiev many times and have never seen a Delta plane on the ground at KBP. I know Aerosvit flies KBP to JFK. If this is an Aerosvit flight, would it still be in the same terminal with the Delta connection to Atlanta I need to make?
Thank you for your help! :)
