I am due to arrive at JFK at approximately 0800 on 20 April on a flight bound from Riyadh. Should my liaison party expect any delays in this arrival time owing to the atmospheric interference resultant from the Iceland volcanic activity? Also, can you confirm the airlines arriving at terminal 1?

There should be no delays of that flight due to the events. Saudi Arabian operates at terminal 1.

Traveling to cairo from jfk in june with a 7hr layover and 3 kids. Are there any play areas or anything fun to do with the kids in terminal 3 to keep them busy?

getting to Stamford CT
Is there a train route to get me from JFK to Stamford CT?

Your best and easiest way to travel from JFK is by taking a bus (airporter, airport express) to Grand Central station. It shouldn't cost you more than 15.00. THey might even have a special. Recently I got a ride from LaGuardia on the bus to Grand Central for $5.00! From Grand Central you can then take the Metro North New Haven Line to Stamford. It's a 50-minute ride and costs about 10.00 off peak.

NATS, british air traffic control, have said that uk airspace will still be closed until 1am monday morning. they update their website regularly so you will be able to find out information there:

EU Airspace
The EU airspace has gradually been opened as of now. The first flights from Schiphol, Amsterdam has left to Dubai, JFK and Shanghai. From tommorrow morning half of the closed part of Europe will be open for flights. Though there still will be some restrictions, but they are yet to be announced officially.
assistence between terminals

My mother who is elder and new to air travel arriving at JFK Terminal 4 on Thursday from India at 14HRS. She has to go to Terminal 7 to catch a US airways flight to Charlotte at 18HRS. Is there are any wheelchair or any other assistence available to transfer between terminals with luggage. Advance thnax to reply.
