The might send you to Air Berlin check-in counter which is outside security. No big deal - you will have time to go out , get boarding pass and go back in.But check first with AA personnel if that could be done at the departure gate.

Hi , i am flying from Amman Jordan to Miami FL , yet i am connecting flights at JFK. DO i have to clear customs first and recheck to Miami , or i can send my bags directly to Mimi ??

Also i will stop in T4 and have to go to T8, so please let me know how to go there and what to do !

thanks

Since your first point of entry in US would be JFK, then you will go through immigration and customs at JFK. Which means you have to pick up your bags , go through customs, recheck your bags and then take Airtrain on the third floor, on ANY track, to Terminal 8 for your connecting flight.

Hello. I'm traveling from ATL to JFK to PSA on Delta. One option gives me a 47 minute layover and another gives me 3 hours in JFK. What will I need to do in JFK to board plane to PSA? Will I need to go through the international terminal or will I be there already? How much time should I allow?

Thanks for your help.

Even you are flying the same airline(which , in your case means you don't change terminals here, at JFK) and 47 minutes layover sounds like better deal, I will suggest you to choose the second option. You will have peace of mind with 3 hours layover and no worries in case your flight from ATL is late.

I arrive into JetBlue Terminal 5 but depart from AA terminal 8. Does AA have a baggage transfer desk in Terminal 5 or do I need to transfer my bags with me to Terminal 8?

Check with Jet Blue (at your origin) if they can check all your bags through your final destination. If that happens you don't have to pick them up at T5 and drag them to T8.
If your bags are not checked through then you have to transfer them yourself from T5 to T8 and recheck them in there.

Hi,
I am writing because I am a little bit worried about a flight transfer I will have to do in JFK airport.
I am flying from Barcelona (BCN) to San Jose in Costa Rica (SJO). I booked my ticket with American Airlines. My first flight BCN - JFK arrives at 1:50 pm and I have to take the other flight to SJO that departs from JFK at 3:10 pm. Both flights are in Terminal 8.
I don't know if I'll be able to make it.
Do I have enough time to retrieve baggage/check baggage/immigration before my JFK - SJO American Airlines flight?
thanks in advance

If your flight from BCN is not late , then you should be fine. There is not that much passenger activity at that time at T8.

Thanks for the answer.
Will I have to retrieve my luggage and check it in again?
Cheers,
Enric

I am not sure about that since you are transit in US. My guess is , yes, you will have to, because for you to catch SJO flight you have to pass(leave) customs hall. But, speak to AA in BCN - they will be more familiar with the matter.

I am flying into Terminal 5 from Buffalo and arrive at 2:48PM. I have to get to Terminal 8 for an American Airlines departure to Rome at 4:55pm. Is this enough time and which airtrain do I take?

The time that you have to connect is enough. Take ANY Airtrain on track 1 and get off second stop.

My brother will fly tomorrow with delta from venice to LA and he will stop in jfk. he doesn't speak any english so i am trying to make it easier for him by giving him some tips. I was wondering if he has to reclaim and recheck baggage even if it is the same company? How can he goes from terminal 3 to terminal 2? does he has to go through the US customs? he has 1 hour to do all this, is it gonna be enough time?

He has to claim his bags , go through US customs and then recheck them at Delta connecting flights counter.
Terminal 3 and 2 are connected and it is easy to go from one to the other - just he has to follow the signs for his departing gate.
One hour is kind of tight - hope the flight from Venice won't be late.
