Terminal 4 Facts and Figures
The $1.4 billion T4 opened in May 2001. It is the cornerstone of a $10.3 billion revitalization program currently underway at JFK.
T4 is a model for air terminal technology for the 21st century.
T4 has signed agreements with approximately 50 airlines representing 40 countries, serving U.S. and overseas destinations around the world.
T4 occupies 165 acres, one of the largest properties of any terminal at JFK and is one of the largest air terminals in North America.
T4 was designed with the infrastructure to process between 10 million - 12 million passengers annually.
T4 operates the only facility at JFK's with 24 hour Customs and Border Protection, 365 days per year.
T4 houses the only internal station for AirTrain, JFK's light rail system connecting all JFK terminals, Long Term parking, Car rental and hotel locations, The NYC subway at Howard Beach and the LIRR at Jamaica Station.
T4 is home to 4 religious chapels- Catholic, Protestant, Jewish and Multi-faith, each with a dedicated Chaplain.

You still have to go through security at JFK(Terminal 4). It will take you no more than 20 min.

Coming from Montreal, I will pick up friends arriving from Peru on tuesday morning, 8 : 35 at T4. What can I expect in terms of trafic to reach the airport? Should I be there well in advance and what time approximately does it take for my friends to cross customs?

There is always traffic in the weekdays mornings in NYC area. Give yourself plenty of time in advance.
It usually takes 20-40 minutes for people to come out of customs.

Hi, I'm travelling into JFK
Hi, I'm travelling into JFK at 13.55 with Delta and have to catch a connecting flight to Seattle also with Delta, at 16.10. Will this be enough time to clear immigration and customs, and will i have to re-check my bags? Both flights are from terminal 4,any help would be great!

You have plenty of time . Check again the terminal arrival/departure info - Delta occupies three terminals at JFK and may change their flights. In either situation your time frame is enough.

We are arriving Terminal 4 via Egypt Air on Sunday, June 6th, and are trying to make arrangements for connecting flights to Denver. How long will it take us to get through Immigration/Customs on a Sunday afternoon?

It will take you somewhere between 30-60 min to get through immigration, pick up your bags and go through US customs at that time.

Please can you tell me how long it takes in time to get from Terminal 4 to Terminal Three, travelling on Delta and Virgin.

Hi, I am traveling from charlotte CLT to Dubai on the 11th May by either Jet Blue (Terminal 5)or Delta (Terminal 3)then taking EK flight from Terimnal 4 to Dubai, i am travelling with an infant and was wondering if i can check my bags all the way from CLT to Dubai and what terminal would be easier to get to terminal 4, terminal 3 or 5 or it doesnt make a difference?

Delta or Jet Blue in Charlotte will tell you if it is possible to check your bags all the way through.
It really does not matter which terminal you will land at - they both are at the same distance from T4.

I'm arriving by Singapore Airlines from Frankfurt at 11:40. Will I be able to make it to my JetBlue flight to Orlando, which depart at 13:44? How do I make the transfer between JFK terminal from SQ flight to Jetblue? Thanks.

Singapore arrives at T4. Take Airtrain on the third floor on track 1 and get off next stop - Terminal 5(Jet Blue). You do have enough time.
