Hallo, I have a Delta flight from Rome to JFK that will arrive at 3.40PM at Terminal 4. From JFK I will take another flight to S. Francisco at the same day.
I need to leave one luggage at the luggage storage for about 7/10 days: where is the most convenient place to store my big bags?
I have not yet purchased the ticket to S. Francisco because I don't have idea how long does it takes to:
- go through the immigration office
- take my luggages and leave one of them at the luggage storage (I have to go to the luggage storage office)
- go through security again for the flight to S. Francisco
I see that there are flights to S. Francisco at 5.55PM, at 6.35PM, at 6.59PM, at 7.00PM: please, could you tell me if I have enough time to do everything and how much time I have to consider to purchase the ticket to S. Francisco?
Thanks

First, Delta from Rome will land most likely at T3(T1 if it is code share with Al Italia).
Going through customs it will take you 30-50 minutes.
Let's say that you will leave the luggage at T4(the facility there is 24 hours open) then you will need roughly another 20-30 min to go there(either from T3 or from T1; no time if you end up at T4). Give yourself another 2.5 hours for check-in and going through security.
Don't take a risk with earlier flights - I will go with 6:59pm or 7:00pm flights.

Hi,
My family is arriving JFK at terminal 8 on American Airlines and they will take an international flight to Egypt from Terminal 4. I'm wondering if there is any way to help them to go between the terminals. They do not speak Enlish. Their flight is scheduled on Friday, May 14th.
Thank you

Abdo

Many thanks for you answer. The flight Delta DL 187 from Venice to JFK will arrive at T3 - gate 14.
After reading your answer I've purchased the ticket for the flight DL 73 from JFK to SFO of 7.00 PM (T2 - gate 28). I won't need the luggage storage: I will have only hand luggage (it will be easier and less expensive...)
I'd like to know:
- how can I go from T2 to T3: must I take the AirTrain?
- is it necessary go through security again?
I have already done the check-in online for the JFK-SFO flight, so I think I have enought time to do everything.
Thanks in advance for your answer.

T2 and T3 are connected and there is no need to take transportation. Once you clear the customs at T3, look for security checkpoint(yes, you have to clear security again), go through it, take the escalator up and then look for the signs for gate 28. It is walking distance no more than 5-10 minutes.

Hi, we will be flying in from Egypt on Flight MS985 on Egypt Air at 15h00 and then have a flight to Chicago on Flight 919 Jet Blue at 20h30. How long will it take to clear customs and what Terminal do we have to go to in order to catch the Jet Blue flight?

It takes between 30min to 1hr at that time of the day.
You need to go to the third floor of Terminal 4, take Airtrain on track 1 and get off next stop.

Hi.
I have an American Airlines flight that from toronto to JFK that lands at 21:55 at Terminal 8, and i have to get on a flight from Terminal 4 (Elal To Tel Aviv) at 23:55 - 2 hours later. Do i have enough time? do i have to recheck my luggage? go through security? how far is walk from terminal 8 to 4?
Thank you very much for your help,
Dana.

Hi Dana,
You have time to transfer. If AA checked your bags all the way through Tel Aviv then you don't need to re-check your bags. Other wise take them with you and re-check them in at T4 El Al counter.
You will clear security at T4.
There is no way to walk between those two terminals. Take Airtrain on the second floor of Terminal 8 , on track 2 to Terminal 4. It is only 5 min ride.

I am travelling on Egyptair to SFO via JFK. Need to change over from Terminal 4 (Egyptair MS985) to Terminal 8 (United Airlines/Egyptair MS9317} and have just 2 hours to do so. Where will my immigration and customs be? at JFK Ter 8 or at SFO? Am I required to collect my checked in baggage at Terminal 4 and Check it in again at Terminal 8? and if yes, is 2 hours enough time to do so?
Grateful for your response.

Check your info again - United flies out of T7(American Airlines is out of T8).
You have to pick up your bags at T4 and clear customs there. You can either transfer your bags at T4(connecting flights counter for Egypt Air) or at T7(T8). You just have enough time(hope Egypt is not late) to do that.
At T4 go to the third floor and take the Airtrain on track 1 - second stop is T7,third stop is T8.

I really appreciate the quick and useful response. It is indeed T7 Thanks for correcting.

I am travelling from Pittsburgh to JFK via American Airlines and JFK to New Delhi via Air India. Since I have to go through security in pittsburgh, do I have to go through the same in terminal 4 at JFK? How much time does it take to check in at terminal 4? I have two hours at JFK. I have to go from terminal 8 at JFK to terminal 4 (my baggage is checked at Pittsburgh and I can collect it in New Delhi-- I am sure about this). Thanks and would appreciate your reply.
