There are 8 operating airline terminals At JFK Airport, Terminals 1 to 8. Terminals are located around the central terminal area (CTA). The terminals and parking lots in the central terminal area are divided into five areas.

I am arriving at JFK from Singapore on an F1 visa for the first time, and will transit to Pittsburgh on a domestic flight
1) do I clear immigration (and verify my I-20, I-94) at JFK or Pittsburgh?
2) how much time should I cater for between my international arrival and the domestic flight to Pittsburgh?

1.) You will clear customs at JFK.
2.) At least 2-3 hours.

Changing from International to Domestic flights at JFK
Hello,
My family will be arriving at JFK via Qatar airways. I am trying to book a domestic flight for them from JFK to Cleveland, OH (CAK).
What would be the mode of transport from an international terminal to domestic? Once they clear customs, would they be able to go directly to a domestic terminal without leaving the airport? How much time should I allow for flight delays?

Airtrain is very convenient when it comes to changing the terminals. Your family don't have to leave the airport in order to do that. It is very difficult to determine a future flight delay but as general allow at least 3 hours between the flights.

Connction flight
On june 15th at 14.37 I´m coming from Kansas City by Delta Air Line to terminal 3, and at 17.40 I should leave for Helsinki, Europe on Finnair from terminal 8. Do I have enough time to do that because I suppose I cannot send my luggage directly from Kansas to Helsinki? And how shall go from terminal 3 to terminal 8?

You have plenty of time to do that. Airtrain station is located across the street from T3/T2. Take Airtrain on ANY track to T8.

Flight changes
Hi, My wife and son and I will be arriving 13:55 via flight AA211 on route to Orlando on flight AA1917, on Saturday 12th June. We are wondering how long it will take us to clear customs and make it to terminal 8, gate 40 for the 15:10 flight to Orlando?
We would appreciate any advice.

Hi Philip,
It takes between 20-40 min to clear customs. You will be at T8 - no need to change terminals. Just go to the third floor, go through security and look for the gate number for your flight to Orlando.

Terminal 7 to 8
My daughter is coming into Terminal 7 at 1715 and needs to be at Terminal 8 for a flight at 1950 - can you give directions or a map for her to follow please.

There is Airtrain station across the street from T7. She has to take Airtrain on track 1 and get off next stop. It is 1 min free ride.

Customs
If you are not a US citizen, and you are entering the country for the first time, (possibly at treminal3) how long does it take to pass security and customs? ( and get out into the airport to use the phone!)
Is there an internet cafe anywhere in JFK?

If you are green card holder, entering US for first time , prepare yourself for at least 3 hours inside.
Terminal 1 and Terminal 4 have paid internet access.
