Here are some of most common options that you have in this case:
1. Taxi
Yellow cab (from JFK to any point to Manhattan) costs flat rate of $45 + bridge toll($5.50). The price is for the whole taxi, not per passenger.

2. Public
Take Airtrain from any terminal on track 1 to Jamaica Station( be careful - on that track there are two alternating trains going to different routes; check the sign above the doors as the train arrives; the red colored sign is Jamaica one). Then take subway line E to 42nd street stop. Cost-$7.25/passenger.

3. Shuttle
There is shuttle(look for it at Ground transportation
counter or Welcome Center) that goes to any address in Manhattan for $18.50-$25.00 per person.

4. Express Bus
NYAS(New York Airport Service) bus will take you express to Times Square for $15/passenger. The bus leaves every 20 min in front of each JFK terminal. You can buy tickets on the bus or from their representative in front of the terminal.

Hi,

Me and a friend will be arriving at JFK Airport on June 14th, 06:05 AM (international flight); I've been looking at the different shuttles offer and I think the shared–ride van service would be a good option. Can you give your advise on this? I appreciate it.
From JFK we have to go to 54th between 10th & 11th.
Thanks!

The shuttle is door to door service; picks up at any terminal at JFK(Ground Transportation or Welcome Center).
It has ~20-30 min waiting time for the driver to show up.
The cost is between $18.50-$25. Once picked up, the shuttle makes multiple stops in the city(drops people at different stops) so the travel time varies between 1hr - 1:30 hrs.

Hi my girlfriend and I arrive at JFK at around 7:30pm. Could you tell me if the shuttles run to 7th avenue and how often do they leave and the approx cost? Is this a personel service or do they do multiple stops on a single run. Thanks

Where on 7th Ave. are you going? The NYAS bus ($15) makes several stops including Penn Station at 7th Ave & 33rd St. You can also take the E subway from Jamaica Station (take Airtrain from your terminal) to the 7th Ave. stop located at 7th & 53rd St., or to Penn Station. Total cost is $7.25.

Hi, I am arriving at 13:05 hours at JFK from Frankfurt with Lufthansa flight. I need to go to Newark airport from there. Is there be a shuttle available for this route?

State Shuttle - look for it at Ground Transportation(Welcome Center) counter.
