If you can find a taxi that will fit all of you you'll pay a flat rate of $45 + tip. You can also walk up to Penn Station at 33rd St. and take the NYAS bus but that will cost $15 per person. Depending on time of day and traffic the trip will take 45 minutes or more. Another option if you don't mind public transportation is either the Jamaica-bound E subway to Sutphin Blvd./JFK or LIRR to Jamaica, both from Penn Station, and then Airtrain to your terminal. Cost for subway/Airtrain is $7.25 per person and LIRR/Airtrain is about $13 per person. Subway will take a over an hour and LIRR 30-40 minutes.

What is the best way for two travelers to get from LaGuardia to JFK?

Taxi - for two it costs as much as shuttle(~$30)

Hi, my family (five in total) and I will be flying in on Qantas Airways into JFK (Inernational I beleive) and then connecting to Toronto Canada at LaGuardia Airport.
I would appreciate your comments on a few things.

1.My Qantas flight arrives JFK at 1730hrs and the American Airline flight to Toonto leaves LGA at 1930..do I have enuf time to transfer between the airports and check in for this flight?

2.What do you suggest the quickest means of transport from JFK to LGA .. Taxi or airport bus shuttle, do bus shuttles get priority on public roads over cars? ..how much would taxis cost. Also I may need two taxis as we cant afford to hang around waiting for a large Taxi to transport 5 adults and 3 pieces of luggage right?

3.If I fly in on a weekend is it easier transit or week days are better?

4. Are there long delays at JFK Airport for Customs and Immigrations?

5. What are US liquid Carriage Restrictions at US domestic and International airports as I will be carrying some Australian bottles of wine

Your replys are appreciated, also any input from BA_Employee would help as I noted you have been out there ..but any input is great

Thanks mate

Paul

Hey Paul,

I think Quantas flights are coming into JFK as domestic ones , since they clear customs in Los Angeles. Double check with them again.
1. In case of the above mentioned statement is true(domestic no need to clear customs and immigration) , you will be able to make it.
2. The shuttle will cost you $13 each, taxi is on the meter - expect ~$30-$35. As you see it is almost the same prise wise(you have to take 2 taxis). Taxi will take you faster since you don't have to wait.
On highway buses/shuttles do not get priority in this case.
3. There is less traffic on weekends.
4. In case you clear immigration/customs at JFK - give yourself 30-40 min for that.
5. Here is what US customs web site says about the alcohol allowance:
"Alcoholic Beverages
One liter (33.8 fl. oz.) of alcoholic beverages may be included in your exemption if:
• You are 21 years old.
• It is for your own use or as a gift.
• It does not violate the laws of the state in which you arrive.
Federal regulations allow you to bring back more than one liter of alcoholic beverage for personal use, but, as with extra tobacco, you will have to pay duty and Internal Revenue Service tax."

Distribute the bottles among the 5 of you and you will be fine.

We are group of 7 and need to have a transportation from JFK to La Guardia (around 5 pm on Monday). What is the easiest and maybe cheapest way to have the family transported? We don't have too much time to spend.

Take a private van at Ground Transportation(Welcome Center) counter. It will cost you $57.

HI!
Please advice which way is easier and cheaper to get from JFK airport to Port Authority bus station? Thank you.

Take Airtrain from any terminal on track 1 to Jamaica Station( be careful - on that track there are two alternating trains going to different routes; check the sign above the doors as the train arrives; the red colored sign is Jamaica one). Then take subway line E to 42nd street stop. Cost-$7.25/passenger.

We have 4 persons. Which way is easy and cheaper for us from JFK airport to Hotel stanford in Manhattan. Thank you.

Do we have to make advanced reservations for the super shuttle express or can we just buy the ticket and get onto one from JFK airport?

Even you can make advanced reservation , it is not required and you can book the shuttle on the spot. There is no difference.
JFK_E

Take an yellow cab - it will charge you flat $50.50 for the whole cab.
Cheaper than that is only public transportation ($7.25/person) but it is not easier.
JFK_E

If you can snag a taxi that will hold all 4 of you then you can split the fare ($45 + $5.50 tolls and tip). Otherwise try the Super Shuttle. If the 4 of you feel adventurous you can get there by Airtrain/subway ($7.25); take Airtrain to Jamaica station, transfer to the E subway, at Forest Hills/71st Ave. transfer to the V subway and take that to 34th St./Herald Square (6th Ave.) and walk two blocks down to 32nd St. Hotel is between 5th & 6th Aves.

I need a cab/shuttle from JFK to Long island (Deer Park Exit 51) on Saturday June 5th 2010
can someone please tell me how much it would cost me?

Thanks in advance.
