Dear JFK. Please can you
Dear JFK. Please can you assist me, We arrive at JFK on 3rd July at 9pm. Our destination point is 60 West 23rd St. Please can you advise us on the best way to reach our destination using public transport.
Thankyou in advance
re:Our destination point is 60 West 23rd St.
1. Taxi
Yellow cab (from JFK to any point to Manhattan) costs flat rate of $45 + bridge toll($5.50). The price is for the whole taxi, not per passenger.
2. Public
Take Airtrain from any terminal on track 1 to Jamaica Station( be careful - on that track there are two alternating trains going to different routes; check the sign above the doors as the train arrives; the red colored sign is Jamaica one). Then take subway line E to 23street stop.Cost-$7.25/passenger. Walk 2 blocks east on W23rd street.
3. Shuttle
There is shuttle(look for it at Ground transportation
counter or Welcome Center) that goes to any address in Manhattan for $18.50-$25.00 per person.

I will be arriving at JFK at 7:30 am from South America (New York is our first point in the U.S.), and after a large-scale I have to take another flight. I have been told we have to take our luggage to customs control. Need to know if at the end of the process I have to stay with my luggage and check it again before my next flight or I can check it immediately after the end of this control.

After customs you have two options:
- either have the airline that you just arrived on transfer your bags at the connecting flights counter on to your next flight or,
- take your bags with you to the next terminal(or the same terminal, but check-in counters, depending where the second airline is located) and have the second airline check-in your bags.

URGENT AIRTRAIN TRANSIT QUESTION
Hey,
I'm arriving on a CX international flight from HK at 13:10 in Terminal 7 tomorrow and will need to pick up my baggage and transit to terminal 8 for an AA flight to Baltimore departing at 15:40.
Would that be enough time to transit?
How long does it normally take to get out of immigration?
Also, how do I get on an airtrain? How long would the airport terminal route take considering I would need to take the whole loop? Or would the Howard Beach and Jamaica Station routes be better as it would be one station?
Many thanks,
So, basically, do I exit the building and go across to airtrain track one for one stop? Then, how long does it take to exit Terminal 7 on a Saturday afternoon?
Could you please walk me through the steps? Do I need to go to the CX connecting flights booth after I exit customs?
How long will it take
How long will it take Airtrain from Jamaica to JFK Terminal 4
re:URGENT AIRTRAIN TRANSIT QUESTION
You do have enough time.
To go through immigration/customs will take up to 40-50 min.
Go outside the building and cross the streets then go upstairs(3rd floor) to the Airtrain Station.
Going to T8 it would be better taking the track 1 train - it is only one stop(less than a minute ride). On track 2 it will take you ~7 min to get to T8.
It is better to try to transfer your bags at CX connecting flights counter.

You should have enough time,
You should have enough time, it normally takes 30-45 minutes to clear customs/immigration. When you exit customs follow signs for Airtrain and take any train on track 1 just one stop to T8 which will take about two minutes. Check with CX when you check in at HK if they will check your bags all the way to Baltimore for your AA flight and if they will issue a boarding pass for that flight. If yes proceed to the connecting flights counter to drop your bags and then Airtrain to T8 to your gate, if not you'll have to take your bags and check-in at AA.
