Yes, you will need a valid US visa.
Here is what IATA official document says about that:
"On August 2, 2003 the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) suspended both the US Transit Without Visa (TWOV) and International-to-International (ITI) programs until further notice. All aliens travelling to or through the United States must be in possession of a valid visa."

There is only one exception though:
"A Transit Passenger Inspection Pilot Program (TPIPP) has been introduced for passengers travelling between Hong Kong and Toronto, Canada that operate via Anchorage, Alaska."
At this point only Cathay Pacific passengers traveling on that route are subject to that exception.

No, you are just transiting through.

I'm traveling domestically next weekend, and need to send my passport away to get a visa for a trip the following weekend. My driver's license and SS card were stolen along with my wallet. If I can't get another photo ID by next weekend, can I still fly (domestically)?

It will be a hassle without a photo ID but workable. At the security checkpoint TSA has alternative methods to verify your identity without proper ID but it takes time. Did you file a police report when your wallet was stolen? If so bring a copy of that, any other documents that might help verify your identity, work ID, credit card, etc. Make a copy of your passport before you send it out. Be sure to allow extra time to get things worked out at the ticket counter and security.

Hi, I am flying from Bahamas by Jetblue and arrving JFK terminal 5 at 2:09pm, then take 4:35pm China eastern airlines from terminal 1 to Shanghai, there are only around 2.5 hours connecting the 2 flights, is this time enough? Do I need to go through customer when landing in JFK? Do I need to go through custom again when taking China eastern airlines flight? Can I go through US custom in Nassau airport? many thanks,

You clear customs in Nassau only. The time frame is plenty.

I'm arriving on Delta at Terminal 2. I'm leaving from the international Terminal 4. How do I transfer between the terminals - and, do I have to go through security again at Terminal 4?

Take Airtrain which is located across all the streets from T2, on track 1 and get off next stop. You will clear security at T4 again.

I was on a flight from Portland, ME to JFK on March 11th that was delayed. The airine initially told us it was because of an air traffic control issue at JFK. Several hours later, when the plane arrived and we got on, the crew told us it was because of mechanical problems on the plane. When I tried to get compensation from the airline for my hotel (as I missed a connecting flight and had to stay overnight in NY), they are now again saying it was an air traffic control problem. How can I find out if there was an air traffic control issue on March 11th? Thanks so much.

Some friends and I will be arriving at JFK in a couple of weeks and need to know the cheapest, easiest way to get to the Wellington Hotel located at 871 7th Avenue at 55th Street. We are small town girls so please make it as simple as possible. Thanks!

welcome to NYC...the best way to get to your destination is to take a flat rate taxi into Manhattan. They can drop you off door to door. Hope you girls enjoy ya stay...

Elvis

How many people are going there? If you are 3 or 4 then is worth it to take yellow cab(flat fare of $50.50+tip)
