For that to happen they don't have to be partners - as long they have baggage agreement transfer.

I can't thank you enough for this information - I travel a lot nationally and internationally for business, and it will help. I realize whenever I enter a new country I will have to get the bags and pass through customs and immigration with them, but it will be useful when there are in-country stops with airline changes, assuming they have baggage agreement transfer.

Delta has me booked on a flight from Detroit - JFK, with a 45 minute transfer to a Delta flight to Athens. Is this enough time? Delta says this is a "legal" connection...

Yes, as long as Detroit flight is on time.

I'll be thankful if some good samaritan guides me about the availability of pure vegetarian, i.e., without eggs, onion or garlic, meals/breakfast/snacks at JFK

Cibo Express has vegan options. Most terminals have a Cibo location.

Thanx a lot for the info.

Hi,
Arriving by AI-101 & leaving to Columbus same afternoon by American Eagle. I'll be thankful if someone guides me regarding procedures & transport between T4 & T8

After you clear immigration , you will pick up the bags and go through customs; then recheck the bags at AI counter , go to the third floor of the terminal and take any train . Terminal 8 is three stops away(5min) in either direction, on any train.

Thanx Mr/Mrs/Ms MS for this valuable guidance indeed !

hello, i'm supposed to arrive in JFK with DELTA n°0263 (from Italy) at gate 2 at 1:50pm and change to the DELTA connection to SFO which should go at 3:15 pm

will I have enough time to change? and do I have to take my luggage on JFK and check-in again?

thank you

You will have enough time to change but it will be a bit rushed, so make sure that you keep track of time as soon as you land so you do not miss your connection.

Also, yes you will have to collect your bags in JFK in order to complete Customs checks and then you will have to re-check-in your baggage at Delta.

My daughter is flying into JFK from Europe on July 19th in the afternoon with 2 very heavy bags. She will need to get from Terminal 8 to Terminal 5 to get her flight home. What is the easiest way to get from one terminal to another?

Let her get a baggage cart(it cost $5) and take Airtrain at T8, on track 2. T5 is only 2 stops away(2 mins free ride).
