I think I figured it out! Thanks anyway!

Cheapest is by Airtrain/subway ($7.25); take Airtrain from terminal to Jamaica Station, transfer to E subway to 42nd St., transfer there for the uptown #1 subway and get off at 79th St. Walk down Broadway two blocks to your location. Taxi will cost $50+tip.

coming in on jetblue trying to get to valley stream 11580, how much will taking the air train to jamaica then the lirr to my location be?

Airtrain is $5, LIRR is $4.25 off-peak or $6.50 peak. You can purchase both fares on one ticket on the automated machines at Jamaica.

Could you let me know if there is the bus from JFK airport to Washington DC?

Nothing direct from JFK to DC. You need to go to Penn Station to catch the Vamoose bus, Boltbus or Megabus or Amtrak train to DC. Bus is cheaper than train. Take the NYAS express bus to Penn Station from your terminal.

I'm arriving at 10 p.m. to JFK; is the AirTrain safe at that time to travel to Manhattan.

Yes, it is ...Can't say the same for the subway after 12 midnight though.

Can you please tell me how to the Four Points by Sheraton Manhattan Soho Hotel by train / subway JFK ?

Take Airtrain from terminal to Howard Beach Station, take the A subway. At Canal St., get off and wait for the C or E subway and take one stop to Spring St. (A subway doesn't stop at Spring St.). Walk one block west to Varick St. and two blocks north to Charlton St. Hotel is to the left on Charlton. Cost including Airtrain is $7.25, travel time about 1 hour.

It's free and easy to use. It would be able to answer most of the questions here.

My wife and I will be flying in to JFK from Sydney, Australia at 5.30pm on August 2nd. We then want to catch the train to our accommodation in East 73rd Street. What train do we need to catch, how long will the train journey take and apporoxiamtely how much will it cost? Thanks for your help.

Take Airtrain from your terminal to Jamaica Station, transfer to the E subway. At Lexington/53rd transfer to the uptown #6 subway, exit at 77th St. and walk 4 blocks south to 73rd St. (or exit at 68th St. and walk 5 blocks north). Travel time about 1.25 hours and cost is $7.25 including Airtrain.
