You have to collect the bags in order to pass US customs. Terminal 7 closes during the night - you can go to Terminal 4 which is open 24 hours and spend the night there.

hello,

I leave to Miami and I make stopover has New York.
did I want to know if I were to still record my bag has New York where if the bags followed without one having recovered?

At the time of is a stopover this good indicated?

I am an American citizen and will land at Terminal 4 from overseas at 15:40.
My conecting domestic flight is American Airlines from Terminal 8 at 17:45 (2hrs 25 min.if there are no delays).
Is this enough to get luggage, clear customs, immigration check, security checks and get to Terminal 8 in time for my connecting flight?

Who is responsible if I don't make it?

The time frame should be enough.
If you book the flights on the same ticket the first airline is responsible if you don't make it.
If you book the flights on different tickets you are responsible .

I will depart from T4 on a KLM flight. I'd like to buy a watch at a duty-free shop. I've seen there are in terminal 3 and 7. Is it possible to reach one of theese with a ticket of a flight departing from T4? iF so, is it far away? thanx in advance.

No , it is not. To access the duty free shops at T3 or T7 you will need a valid boarding pass for a flight departing out of those terminals.

My group was arriving from the UK and missed their connecting flight to peru due to a delay.
How do i find out what flight they will now be coming to peru on?

Call the airline that is supposed to bring the group from JFK to Peru.

I'm visiting USA from China for business purpose.

I wonder whether I can have my sales tax refund in the airport?
at T4?
Some said yes,but some said no tax refund in Newyork.
So I need your verify.
tks

The tax refund has been ceased many years ago.

I am arriving from Lima, Peru, in transit to Tokyo. I have a valid visa to enter the US but do not really need to enter.
My flight arrives 08:35 to Terminal 4 and I leave to Tokyo from Terminal 8 at 11:50.
I would like to stop at a duty free shop. Also I have a Priority Pass to access lounges although I don't see any of them available at Terminal 8 only at 7, 4 and 1.
So my question is if I am not entering the US and I have already checked my luggage all the way to Tokyo I need not go through Customs, or is it necessary to do so ?
If I can save time not going through Customs is it possible to have access to a duty free shop ?
What would be my best move regarding lounges, go to one in T4 and then go to T8 ? How much in advance should I leave T4 to not risk missing my Tokyo flight ? Or should I go to a T7 lounge ?
Thanks for any advice.

The minute you step off the plane at US soil, you are entering USA and you HAVE to go through US immigration and US customs. This is US law.
Unless your priority pass is for AA lounges , it does not make sense to use them at T8 - better to stick with ones at T4.
Since you are leaving out of T8, then it is better to use the duty free shops at T8.
Using the Airtrain is only 5 min between T4 and T8 but allow yourself 30-45 min , given the waiting time at the security checkpoints.

Hi,
My sister is flying from India to SFO by qatar airlines upto JFK and then by Americal Airlines (AA) from JFK to SFO.
As I read previous comments, the whole process, she get off from plane, clear immigration, get luggage, clear custom, dropp of her bags to AA, take airtrain, go through security check again, and reach to her AA gate.

COuld you please let me know,
1) At which floor she has to get her luggage and trolly?
2) How much trolly cost?
3) Do they have AA center on terminal 4 (If yes, what floor?)or she has to take her luggage to terminal 8 and then re-check in there (If yes, what floor?)?
4)Approximately, how long it takes in immigration?
Thanks,
