Operated by - The airport has been operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey under a lease with New York City since 1947.

After the September 11, 2001 attacks, JFK was one of the first airports in the United States to be temporarily closed.

Hi,
Q 1 - My flight from Manchester is arriving at 1.55pm at terminal 8 on Thursday July 29th. I am wanting to get the 3.30pm Trans-Bridge Lines bus to Bethlehem, PA from terminal 4, will i have enough time to go through immigration/security etc, collect my bag and get to terminal 4 in time for the bus? If i miss it, will i be able to get a service bus to Port Authority bus terminal in Manhattan easily to get another Trans-Bridge Lines bus (as the next one from JFK doesn't leave until 7pm...)?

Q 2 - My next flight to LA goes at 6.25am on August 6th, how long before do i need to check in and is it possible to stay at the airport during the night before? (as i know it takes ages to get to airport from NY city...)

I hope to hear back soon, thank you.

S

just got back home and found items missing from my bag, clearly stolen at airport security (these are bags i checked in for the flight)
they were opened for security inspection and an iphone an ipod touch (brand new) were taken.

who do i contact to report the theft?

We have never travelled through JFK before. We arrive at terminal 8 and leave just under 2 hours later from terminal 4. Is this enough time and can anyone tell us exactly how to get from terminal 8 to terminal 4? Thanks. B&G

You will go to the second floor of T8 and follow the signs to the Airtrain. Take it on track 2 - it is less than 5 min free ride to T4.

My friend arrives at T7 at 16.30. I arrive at T4 at 17.00. Do they have the same baggage claim area is that the best place to meet? We then need to get the train or bus to Uniondale?

T7 and T4 have different baggage claim areas. Best place to meet is at T7.

You can use Airtrain for that purpose - luggage carts are allowed on the train.
