My daughter is traveling from Israel to Los Angeles. The problem is that she only has 2 hour from the time she arrives at Jfk terminal 4 I believe and her flight on terminal 8 - does she have to get her luggage and go thru inmigration and then check her luggage for the next flight on terminal 8 Jet Blue air and is there enought time?

Two hours window is OK as long as the flight from Israel is not late. She has to get her luggage in order to pass US customs. If she flyes Jet Blue , then the terminal would be 5.

I am flying from SYR-JFK and then JFK-BNA , the lay-over time between landing in JFK and departing from JFK is 1hr21minutes.. I also purchased my ticket online so it isn't telling me the specific terminals. Am i going to have to retrieve my baggage at JFK and check it again before procceeding on the flight to nashville? Or will the airlines transfer it directly from my Syracuse flight. Both flights are through Delta air-lines. ( I will also have a carry on with me )

You bags should be checked through to BNA when you check in at SYR. Delta is terminals 2 & 3 which are connected so when you arrive verify the departure gate for the BNA flight and walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, no more than a few minutes.

I am flying in tomorrow on Jet Blue terminal 5 and I need to pick up a minor who's coming in on United Terminal 7. How do I get from Terminal 5 to Terminal 7 and how will I get to the boarding area where to minor will be waiting?

Take Airtrain from T5, on track 1 and get off next stop-T7. Go to United counter and request a gate pass.

I am flying from NC to JFK on American and it lands at 10am and then I have to get to a Virgin America flight to LAX at 11:40AM. Is that enough time if I just do carry on? I won't have to go through security again right ... or will I since Virgin America (even though it's a domestic flight) is in the international temrinal?

You will make it. The reason why you have to go through security again is that VA is located at different terminal.

How can i make it from terminal 5 to terminal 4 ?

is that a walkable distance ?

can a cab drive me from t-o5 to t-04 ?

or are they any shuttle betwen the two terminals ?

thanks

It is walkable distance - just exit T5 on the first floor and walk to your left. It takes ~10 min.
There is a train called Airtrain - you can take it on the third floor of T5, on track 2 and T4 is the very next stop.

I will be arriving JFK from Rome on Alitalia flight 6:30pm. Wish to know if I will make the connection to the last JetBlue flight out at 8:30pm. Will 2 hrs be enough time to clear customs and also transfer terminals? How about if I have carry-on luggage, no checked luggage?

You should be fine. Not having checked bags is a big plus - it will speed up the process in customs. And you don't have to worry about check-in the bags at Jet Blue as well.

Is there ever a situation where you would NOT collect your bags when arriving on an international flight? I have a ticket purchased by my employer that is coming from Amsterdam on KLM arriving to JFK at 4pm. Instead of taking the next leg of my itinerary, I have purchased a ticket to another city that leaves at 720pm. I realize that if I check my bags when I depart Kuwait, they will go all the way to ORF (the last leg of the original itinerary), and I will be ending up in TPA instead. My thoughts are that I can check my bags and when I arrive to JFK customs I will take my bags after clearing customs and then proceed to JetBlue to check in for my flight to TPA. Will this work? Is there any reason why I would not receive the bags in JFK customs?

I understand what do you mean - there is no way not to display the bags on the belt from international flight(unless they get lost or misplaced during the flight, which happens sometimes). You will collect them at JFK, go through customs and then you can re-check them in to your changed destination. You will have no problems doing that.
If they get lost or misplaced(on the way to JFK) for some reason(and you won't be able to pick them up at JFK), then the airlines will re-route them as per your original itinerary.
