JFK via AIRTRAIN/LIRR to Hilton NYC
I know I should talk the Air Train to Jamaica Station and to the LIRR. But then? Looking for most direct route to the Hilton on 6th Avenue between W 53rd and 54th. I'm arriving at 6:00 a.m. on 8/5/10. Thanks.
re:Looking for most direct route to the Hilton on 6th Avenue bet
Take Subway E at Jamaica Station and get off at 7th ave stop. Walk west on W53rd street and make left on 6th Ave - the Hotel is right around the corner.

JFK to a few destinations
Hi I am flying in on a Friday morning and would like to visit NYC for the day and then somehow get to the Poconos the same night. What would be the cheapest way to get from JFK (Northwest Airlines) to see (not necessarily in this order) 1. Statue of Liberty 2. Empire State Building 3. Times Square 4. Central Park 5. Colombia Presbyterian Hospital and then to the Poconos? I know that is asking a lot- at least it would be cool to know which stop is the closest from the airport- I can start there.
train time
Sir I am reaching JFK in the evening 5.pm after arrival I want to go to New Jersey by train pl help me what is the timing and fair to new jersey .
thanking you in advance. regards Benjamin
Where in NJ are you going?
Where in NJ are you going? First you need to get to Penn Station for NJ Transit or Amtrak train service. Take Airtrain from your terminal to Jamaica Station and either E subway or LIRR to Penn Station, or you can take the NYAS express bus from your terminal to Penn Station. Check www.njtransit.com for schedules and fares to your NJ destination.
Change of terminal
Hi there,
I am flying to JFK via SFO next month and trying to figure out the best and cheapest way possible for me to get to terminal 1 from 7 (as my parents flying around the same day and time but different airlines). I've heard AirTrain going through each terminal for free but my flight wouldn't arrive until around 10.00 PM, so I'm just wondering if they still have service after then ? What would be the alternative?
I believe I have to clear out immigration and custom as soon as I land in the first port entry to the US which will be Frisco but will I have to clear out the imm and custom again when I get to New York?
Please advise and thanks heaps.
Airtrain runs 24/7 so no
Airtrain runs 24/7 so no worries. You will clear US customs and immig at your first US port of entry which will be SFO, not at JFK as your flight from SFO will be domestic.
JFK airtrain operates 24
JFK airtrain operates 24 hours. I think every 15 minutes from 8 pm. Check airtrain website.Once you are flying domestic i don't think you have to redo immigration.

I am travelling from jfk
I am travelling from jfk airport to downtown manhattan (143 east 30th st)...would the fastest and cheapest way be taking the airtrain to Jamaica Station then the "E" subway into downtown manhattan? please help, its my first time travelling to NY
Yes, Airtrain/subway is
Yes, Airtrain/subway is cheapest, will cost $7.25, but not necessarily the fastest. Taxi may be faster but will cost $50+. Your location is on the east side between Lexington and 3rd Ave. so take the E subway from Jamaica Station to 53rd St./Lexington Ave. Transfer there to the downtown #6 subway to 33rd St. Walk three blocks south to 30th St. and then turn left towards 3rd Ave.
getting to Weehawken, NJ
Question please, need to get from JFK to Weehawken NJ. Advice please on the cheapest way to get there, thanx.
Cheapest is by public
Cheapest is by public transportation which includes subway/ferry OR subway/PATH train. Here you go: by ferry-take Airtrain from your terminal to Howard Beach Station. Take A subway to Chambers St. Walk west on Chambers towards World Financial Center/Battery Park City (located on the west side of the WTC site). The NY Waterway ferry terminal is at Vesey St. (south of Chambers), take the ferry there to Port Imperial/Weehawken. Ferry only runs AM from 6am to 9am and PM from 3:30pm to 8pm, trip takes 15 minutes. Airtrain/subway is $7.25 and ferry is $12. OR take Airtrain to Jamaica Station and take E subway to 34th St./Penn Station. From there take PATH train to Exchange Pl. and local transportation to Weehawken. PATH fare is $1.75.
