The question that you asked does not really take "rocket science" to answer it - it is a question that DOES NOT belong to this message board(neither does your attitude). Obviously if JFK_Employee had enough knowledge of MAD airport, her(she) would have answer your question. You have to understand that nowadays the airports are very different - if at one takes minimum two hours to transfer at another mere 15 mins would be enough("General experience" here would be very misleading). No need to express hard feelings towards somebody that is out there to help people (I guess in their free time).
As for your second question - You will go to the third floor of T4, take the Airtrain on track that says "Terminals only" and get off at Terminal 7. Hope that helps!

Hello,

planning on booking a ticket from SFO to JFK on UNITED, arriving at 7:08PM on march 31 2011.

I will then connect to SWISS flight ex JFK to ZRH departing at 8:55PM.

I understand that there is a change of terminals involved.

My question is, if the time window between arrival from SFO and departure for ZRH will be sufficient.

Both flights are on star alliance (UAL & SWISS), but the flights are booked on two seperate tickets. Do I have to claim and recheck baggage or will UAL check it all the way through to ZRH?

The time window that you have chosen looks OK. The only concern is that you are not insured against any possible delays of your first flight by buying separate tickets.
It depends on UA if they will check your bags through but the airlines usually do that if you show them the second ticket.
Also, make sure you get your boarding pass for the ZRH flight in SFO - this way you will have more time in JFK.

Hi. I arrive at Terminal 7 from the UK on BA177 on Nov 3rd at 5.25pm. Can you advise me how to transfer to Terminal 3 to connect to Delta Airways flt 4063 depart 8.30pm? How long does it take to get baggage and immigration process (US Citizen)? Is 3 hrs sufficient and I really need directions to Terminal 3 help??

You have to go across the street from T7 and upstairs where you can take Airtrain on track 2. Terminal 3 is three stops away(~4min ride).
It takes 30-60mins to pass immigration/customs.
Three hours is more than enough to transfer in your case.

I am arriving in JFK at 8:30pm. I will come from American Airlines and will need to transfer to Cathay Pacific to catch a flight at 10pm. Is this time enough if I don't have a check in baggage?

Hi I will be arriving at terminal 7 on the 25th of June with my husbond and 3 kids. We need to make a connecting flight to Orlando from terminal 8 2½ hours later. Is that time enough to get through customs, immigration, get our luggage and go through security once more?

Yes, if the first flight is on time then you will have enough time.
