There are 8 operating airline terminals At JFK Airport, Terminals 1 to 8. Terminals are located around the central terminal area (CTA). The terminals and parking lots in the central terminal area are divided into five areas.

JFK_Specialist, whoever you are, stop sending people between T2 and T3 to take Airtrain !!!
Both terminals are connected. In some cases there is no need to clear security again.

DITTO!! JFK Specialist, you are giving erroneous information! Besides telling folks to take AirTrain between T2 and T3 when there is ONE stop for both T2/T3 (the station has access to T2 at the south end of the station and T3 at the north end and both terminals are connected behind security, by the way), passengers on flights originating from Canada clear US customs at their Canadian airport of departure, NOT on arrival at JFK. The same with flights to JFK from Shannon, Ireland where there is a US customs facility, same with all major Canadian airports. JFK passengers want correct and timely information and bad info is a disservice to them.

Whoever is hiding behind the alias JFK_Specialist(or JFK Specialist) does not have a place here . First with wrong info, and then...Well, we did research back his answers and guess what we found:

You can go both ways. If you want to be cheap stay in your car and have a cozy time but if you want to go little more expensive upgrade your ticket from economy to business and hang out at the business lounge( if you havent done so already). Dont ask MS for any advice because he is incompetent. I hope you enjoy your flight."
We think this is going too far and JFK passengers does not deserve that.

Unfortunately(or fortunately) the users like me, you or anybody else are not able to do that. It is privilege of the moderators of the board. I am only guessing that they are not knowledgeable(with all respect to them) when it comes to JFK Airport. Their job is to filter the posts that are inappropriate.
At this stage I don't see any way to fight incorrectness but monitor it and correct them ASAP. Hopefully, if this continues , the moderators will realize and ban the person's IP address.

Individuals like that have no place helping passengers...I suspect whoever is behind that name even registered all my aliases(MS,NS,LS,GS,DS) so I won't be able to post. Well , nobody can stay on my way when it comes giving the right information to JFK passengers...let's see how many combinations we can get from the English alphabet as aliases:)

T2 ans T3 are connected
T2 ans T3 are connected behind security so you won't have to clear it again. Follow the signs to the gate and you will be there in minutes.
T2 and T3 are connected
T2 and T3 are connected post-security so no need to clear security again unless you leave the gate area. You can walk from gates at T3 to T2 in less than five minutes.

If you arrive in the U.S you will need to pick up your luggage to pass it through U.S customs and then recheck it at terminal 8 at JFK Airport.
There are two possibilities

-if you arrive on Virgin America and your bags are checked through then you won't need to take you bags - just take Airtrain on the third floor to T8(AA);
-if you arrive on Virgin Atlantic then you can re-check you bags at VA Connecting flights counter located right after customs.Take Airtrain to T8 after that.

Hello, I have a friend arriving at Terminal 1 from Vienna, Austria on Austrian Airlines. After he passes through customs, where would be the best place for me to meet him in the arrivals hall? I'm concerned about Holiday crowds. We won't have cell phone communication.

You can meet him in the arrivals hall - it is not that big even when crowded. Good reference point to meet each other is by Ground transportation desk which is located by the customs exit.
