Where is my luggage
I flew Delta to Rome on Dec 20th. My luggage was not put on the plane. Was told that because it was now unaccompanied luggage it would have to put in baggage hold of 24 hours for security reasons and then would be put on the next flight to FCO ad would arrive on the Friday, Dec 24th AM arrival. Guess what!!! No luggage and the Rome Delta employess can not find it and have given me a few unbelievable reasons. Bottom line is they don't really care.
I need a direct # to the baggage hold area so I can ask them to please check my tag number to see if it is still there. Please no automated system. Been there already.
Question on transit
Hello all and Merry Christmas---day after tomorrow, i travel from Detroit to JFK on Delta and then have about 3 hours until i catch Egypt Air business class from JFK to Cairo. Do you guys think that I should check my bags on Delta in Detroit all the way thru to Cairo--delta said they would do it--or should i pick my bags up in JFK and check them back in with Egypt Air? Thanks a lot

Thanks a lot for the help--assuming you mean that its better for me to check my bags in detroit with delta all the way thru JFK on to Cairo? Just worried that if i have a problem in cairo, b/c egypt air and Delta are not partners, my bag receipts will not help me. Thanks a lot.

I travel from Maryland to Cairo thru delta then Egypt Air twice a year and never had a problem with the luggage. I always check them in from Maryland... They actually have somekind of agreement for luggages since both terminals are pretty close... Have a safe filght and happy holidays!

3am @ JFK?
I have a 5am flight out of the country tomorrow morning (Dec. 25) at 5am. Normally, I would get there 2 hours before, but is the airport even open at 3am? What time should I get there for my flight to Costa Rica?

You will be all right - the airport is open 24 hours. And if the flight is at 5am then 3am is normal time to be there.

Hi, my parents are traveling from Moscow to Richmond through JFK. They checked in there luggage in Terminal 3 but the departure is from Terminal 2. Is that a problem? Do they have to go get there luggage in TEr.3 and checked it again in Ter.2???
