Thanks JFK_Specialist...
I'm pretty on top of things usually, but this problem doesn't seem to have a good solution. I've been to IcelandAir's website extensively, but they don't have a number other than the 1-800 one.
They do have a page that updates the flights (http://www.icelandair.us/information/travel-guide/flight-status/). The problem with that is two-fold:
1. I can leave for the airport and they can still cancel.
2. Even if they do cancel the flight prior to me leaving, I still have to know if I get a refund or chance to reschedule
I truly need outside help on this one...
Flight 614 from JFK
I was scheduled for this flight as well. If you look at the link below it states the flight has been canceled. Just thought I would share so you didn't go to the airport for no reason. If the link below doesn't work it's on Iceland Airs website under "News"
http://www.icelandair.us/information/media/newslist/announcement/item477986/Due_to_severe_weather_on_the_East_coast_of_USA_Iccelandair_has_to_cancell_their_fligths_to_Boston_FI_631_and_New_York__FI_615_26_/
Cancelled?
S Tracy...
Where did you find that? I went to the "Media...News" part of IcelandAir and that link isn't there as you said. Also on their "Flight Status" page all flights are still scheduled to go both to Iceland and back.
Also on JFK's own website as well as flightview.com all flights are scheduled.
It's almost as if the link you posted is a fake.
Go to
Go to www.icelandair.us
Below where the check in button is and where you can join "NetClub" There is a "Notice" in orange. It states all flights in and out of Boston and NY have been canceled.
Where you able to find it?

S Tracy, Just saw it.
S Tracy,
Just saw it. Stinks. What are you going to do? Try again tomorrow? I have to cancel/push back my rental car/hotels. If I can't get out tomorrow not sure it makes sense to go.
However I am keen on going. May even try to get up to Boston for that flight if possible.
My trip (flight & hotel) was
My trip (flight & hotel) was actually booked through Expedia. I have been on hold with Expedia for 6 hours. There are connecting flight options for tomorrow. Though I might just have to wait for the Tuesday night direct flight since the Monday night one seems to be booked. When all said and done I will eventually get there!
So frustrating. What can
So frustrating. What can you do I guess?
Are you staying in Reykjavik the entire time? I was going to rent a car and drive around and wind up there for New Year's. Now I'm thinking of staying past next Sunday and seeing the country after Reykjavik.
What are your plans?
Finally got through to
Finally got through to Expedia and booked for Tuesday nights flight. Iceland Air opens 8am local time, meaning 2am our time so call then to re book your flight. I am scheduled to stay until the 3rd but might try to add a day. My hotel is in Reykjavik the entire time but booked a bunch of day excursions which I will spend my tomorrow trying to re organize (but hopefully shouldn't be too bad). Well good luck on getting on a flight and maybe we'll bump into each other.

Hi Sheena, I heard that
Hi Sheena,
I heard that goecco.com is the best tour group. I already spoke with Jonas there and he seems very nice.
Also www.dive.is looks very cool.
I also looked into getting a helicopter ride, but I'm travelling solo and they need at least two people. Do you have any interest in that?
Also feel free to drop me a line at juicefetish@hotmail.com as I'll be checking it from here on out.
Best,
Matt
Re: Weather
So what happens to my flight if there is a foot of snow? I really need to get on the flight as early as I can?
Family tourist by SV flt
Family tourist by SV flt arriving 9:00AM at T1 then take AA domestic flight from T8 to LA.
1. How to get to T8 and how long?
2. Do we need to pass immigration process at T1 first?
3. If we need to go to NYC for sightseeing (double decker tours), how many hours do we need to go through all those baggage claim, security check, immigration, out & return, again security check, then check in time?
Reply by JFK employee, BG or MS please...Thanks!
1. Use air train to transfer
1. Use air train to transfer between terminal 1 and terminal 8.
2. Yes
3. Allow at least 2 hours to be on a safe side.(To best of my knowledge)
While JFK_Specialist got the
While JFK_Specialist got the first two answers right , he is way to far from the right answer on the third question. You will need roughly 1 hour to clear customs/immigration, roughly 1 hour to go to the city, may be up to two hours(depends how long your sightseeing tour is)to complete the tour, another hour to come back and don't forget - you have to be at JFK at least two hours prior to departure. So, to sum it up - somewhere between 7-8 hours for all that.

thanks to MS &
thanks to MS & JFK-Spclst:
Tourist family of 5 flying in T1 will get AA flt at T8 after NYC sightseeing. Each with 1 small backpack + 1 trolley bag the biggest size that fits in the plane's overhead compartment.
Questions:
1. Can we be allowed bring those trolley bags in airtrain or buses to / from NYC?
2. Is there a place to leave those bags in T8?
3. How much do they charge approx.
