NYCers don't care about anyone but themselves. There is no customer service in this city unless its for the upscale environments. Your avg joe customer gets terrible service because with 8 million people here, if you don't use their service, someone else will.
They know the demand is High, so they don't give a hoot about their service or the customer.

I am thinking of driving to JFK to use long term parking tomorrow - tuesday dec 28 at around noon for a 3pm domestic flight

I had a similar experience today. I recommend calling constantly, and locking in a backup plan if you can. My airline is Jet Blue, and I could get home Thurs by buying a new ticket, or next Monday by letting Jet Blue rebook me. God love 'em, I'll take their refund and get myself home. With so many displaced travelers, don't be surprised if your NY stay is extended until the weekend.
Best of luck to you and all the stranded travelers. Take it easy, and remember that 'safe' is better than 'soon'.

I finally got through time
I finally got through time jet blue...who canceled flight.
Which means now I need to pursue my refund for return flight and find my own way home or they can fly me saturday!!!!
