You have to be at the airport at least two hours before your actual flight. If the weather is bad give yourself an extra hour to get to the airport.

Quick question!! Long Story!! But i will keep it short. I booked a flight from JFK to Newcastle, England. Of course I will be grabbing a connecting flight in London because there are no direct flights to Newcastle. Well my connection in England had me switching airports... which I did not want to do... but unfortunately, stupid me, didn't check my details. I tried to arrange something with the online booking engine to just switch all my details and cancel my reservation for just the connecting flight. They don't speak very good english so I am afraid they did not understand me at all. What I got out of it was 'sorry but you can't cancel and no refunds'. That is fine with me as long as I can take another flight. So i went ahead and booked another flight but did not cancel the other. MY QUESTION: Can I just not get onto my originally booked connecting flight and get on my new flight?? Will this cause a whole bunch of confusion with the airlines/airports??

You will not face any problems as long as you fit into the connection times.

Flying into JFK for the first time in the near future and wondering if I have a JetBlue flight coming into JFK at 7:50am and connecting to another JetBlue flight at 8:45am, is that enough time? Do we have to change terminals? or just de-plane and re-board at the same terminal? Thank you in advance for any help!

Jetblue flights depart and arrive at terminal 5 so that will be a little help.Very tight connection but like I said you will arrive and depart in the same terminal which is a little plus. If your first flight is on time you will be fine. If your second flight is little delayed that would be an extra plus for you.

Thank you very much!! Crossing my fingers for on time flights....and good weather :)

You are very welcome. I am glad that I helped. Good luck with your flight :)

We arrive at JFK by Delta 6106 from RDU at 2:56 pm on Jan 4th and leave to Moscow by Delta 30 on the same day at 4:20 pm. It is very tight, and we will have to claim our baggage in JFK and then check-in to Moscow. Do you think we have enough time or it's impossible? Thanks a lot!!!

It is a tight connection and yes you will make it as long as your first flight is on time.

I will be arriving from Europe to JFK and will have almost 3 hours till my next domestic flight. Will that be enough time to grab my luggage, get to terminal 8 and check into the airline? How long does it take to get to terminal 8 from terminal 1? Thanks a bunch!

Swest25. You have more than enough to make that connection sir. Use free air train on the third floor of terminal 8 to transfer between terminal 8 and 1. It will take you to terminal 1 in less than 5 minutes.

Leaving JFK terminal 3 with Delta 118 wednesday 29/12 we found that our luggage had been opended and items missing arriving at home. We believe that this has happened in JFK. Who takes action in this matter? With the new TSA security regulations I find it worrying that luggage can be opened in a security area?

Tourist family of 5 flying in T1 will get AA flt at T8 after NYC sightseeing. Each with 1 small backpack + 1 trolley bag the biggest size that fits in the plane's overhead compartment.
Questions:
1. Can we be allowed bring those trolley bags in airtrain or buses to / from NYC?
2. Is there a place to leave those bags in T8?
3. How much do they charge approx.

Did anyone know if Cathy Pacific CX830 departured from Hong Kong (Dec 27th) land to JFK yet? The website said it arrived at 5:20AM this morning. But when I called the 800# in the morning, the automatical service said the flight supposed be delay and arrival at 11AM. Damn, it's so confused and the 800# is completely dead. Can't even dail in!!

Hi, can anyone assist. We are arriving in JFK on the 30th from Heathrow, that if the flight has not been cancelled. My question is what is the travel situation between the airport and Manhattan. Is the local transport running e.g. taxis buses etc.

Cheers.
