Your best bet would be to take the air train to Jamaica and then catch a train to Stony Brook. The train arrives at the back of Stony Brook University and is within walking distance of the town. There are also cabs there.
Getting from JFK to Queens
Hi! I'll be landing at JFK on August the 18th coming from Paris... does anyone know whether I should take a cab from the airport or air train + subway as I'm going at 40th St-Lowery St QUEENS???
Thanx!!!
Taxi will not cost you much,
Taxi will not cost you much, but your best bet will be to look up the directions so you can tell them which way to go.
40th St./Lowery is easily
40th St./Lowery is easily accessed by mass transit. See my caveat after the directions:
Air Train to Jamaica Station; switch for subway on other side of Long Island Railroad station: take the E train TOWARD MANHATTAN. E travels express in Queens; it's maybe a half-doze stops to ROOSEVELT AVE/74TH ST. where you will transfer UPSTAIRS to the #7 TRAIN bound for MANHATTAN. A few quick stops to 40TH ST/LOWERY.
CAVEAT: there have been rail work service changes of late. If they are happening while you travel you will have to take the #7 to QUEENSBORO PLAZA where the train will terminate (having run only express stations through Queens, bypassing 40th St./Lowery) and then returning through Queens as a local. You will need to take the 7 Local BACK to 40th St.
what is the best way to get
