Yes, 5 hours should be plenty of time. The trip from JFK to LGA is about 30 minutes.

Me &* my family are going to florida from new york, however we are bringing my best friend who is family to us as well. We have all the tickets , reservations, information all that stuff..but my friend does not have a passport nor state ID... PROBLEM???

Your friend must have some type of photo ID such as work, school, etc. that can prove identity or you could have a long delay at security.

If your friend doesn't drive he/she can look into getting a non-driver ID card at the local motor vehicle bureau. Would need to bring birth certificate or proof of citizenship, etc. This type of ID will work for both airlines and security.

You are now required to have a acceptable set of identification in order to either enter the secure areas of the airport or to enter an aircraft. Typically, a current photo identification that was issued by some level of government will be sufficient. For example, driver's licenses, state ID cards, military ID cards, and passports are acceptable, but photo identification issued by a school or private employer are not acceptable. For a domestic U.S. flight, if you do not have an appropriate photo ID, some airlines allow you to substitute two non-photo IDs that are issued by some level of government. When in doubt, check with your airline

Traveling to NYC in a few months and wondering which airport to use. I'll be staying @ the Hilton on West 57th Street...

LaGuardia is closer to Manhattan than JFK but not as accessible by public transportation as is JFK.

I am travelling from India to Raleigh on 11th Apl. My BA flight will reach JFK T7 on 11th Apl at 17.35 and my connecting flight is at 19.00 from T8. I wish to know how much layover is required to safely take the connecting flight. Which terminal do I pick

This will be a very tight connection as you will need to clear customs on arrival at T7, then take AirTrain on track 1 one stop to T8 where you will need to clear security for your connection to RDU. If your arriving flight is delayed or customs is very busy you might miss your connection.

Any place to take a shower in JFK before flying?

Hi there. I know that Sydney Airport has an outlet that helps with the Tourist Refund Scheme for US citizens who pay tax on items bought in Australia.

http://www.sydneyairport.com.au/Sacl/Tourist-Refund-Scheme.html

I was wondering if there is somewhere in JFK that does this for Australian citizens who have paid tax on items bought in USA, and what forms I need to fill out?

Thanks,

Dylan

Tax refunds were discontinued a few years ago.

Travelling to JFK Terminal 8 and looking for cheapest/best transfer option to Hotel le Jolie, 235 Meeker Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11211? Two travellers with 4 bags on 02/04/2011. Any help much appreciated.

Taxi will cost around $45 for both of you and will take you direct. Cheapest is by AirTrain/subway ($7.25); take AirTrain from terminal to Howard Beach Station, transfer to the inbound A subway to Broadway Junction. Transfer there to the inbound L subway to Lorimer St. Meeker Ave. intersects Lorimer St. just a few blocks north of the subway.

I am flying in to JFK from Boston using Jetblue then moving to terminal 1 to fly out with Korean Air. Do I need to pick up my luggage in JFK or would Jetblue direct my luggage directly to Korean air?
