Early (earlier that 6:00am) pick-up of luggage is possible.
Price list (as of May 1st,2010) for baggage storage only at the facilities at Terminal 1 and Terminal 4.
The prices are per bag, per 24 hours:
Up to 20" - $4
21" - 24" - $6
25" - 26" - $8
27" - 32" - $11
Other(non standard bags, skis etc) - $16

How many check in bags are permitted for international flights
On the site, I am unable to find out how many bags can each passenger take on an international flight

You can look that up on individual airlines' websites. Who are you flying with? They should have their policy posted under "baggage allowance" on their site.

the luggage storage is in terminal 4 lower level near the info booth
they are very nice and it is safe and quick to get the bag back to me

max storage period (terminal 4)
I am wondering is there a limit on storage period? I read somewhere that I could only store for 24 hours max, is it true for the one in terminal 4? I actually would like to store for like a week.
I found a company in midtown
I found a company in midtown manhattan who does Luggage Storage for the day, week, month and Luggage Forwarding as well.
Schwartz Travel Services / 355 w 36 / 212-290-2626 / www.schwartztravel.com it may be a great alternative.
but keep in mind they are only open daily from 8am - 8pm and not 24h.

I am planing a roadtrip, but I don't want to carry my luggage all around. I was wondering if i could store my luggage in the airport even if i'm not arriving at it, but just departing from it. Also I wanted to know how safe is it and safety measures they take.
