Los Angeles will be your first point of entry to United States so there you will have to go through Customs and recheck your bags for flight to JFK.

How long between terminals
We arrive in JFK terminal 8 at 3.00pm Qatar Airways flight QR083 and we have a Virgin America flight from terminal 4 at 4.30pm do we have enough time?
Also will Qatar Airways transfer our baggage onto the Virgin Flight or will we have to go through immigration and collect our baggage and check in with Virgin?

You will have to collect
You will have to collect your luggage and check it through Customs and then recheck them with Virgin America. Your time frame is tight but you have a chance of making it if your first flight is on time.

I am meeting someone at the
I am meeting someone at the airport that is arriving on American Airlines (Terminal 8) from London. It is a surprise that I am meeting them at the airport so I don't want to miss them before they get into a taxi. From my experience arriving internationally at other terminals it seems like there is only one exit from the secured international area (where you clear customs, get baggage, etc.) to the public unsecured area. Is that the case for Terminal 8 as well or are ther multiple exits? Thanks!

Sticky Situation
Hello,
I will be flying into JFK at 8:25am on Monday the 25th. I will be arriving and departing in terminal 3 (same day). My girlfriend has been backpacking in Peru for almost 2 months and I have not seen her. I want to come a surprise her at the airport and keep her company for her 2 hour lay over. She will be flying out of terminal 8. Even though I don't have a flight leaving from terminal 8 will I be able to accompany her into terminal 8 and then leave and go back to terminal 3 and fly out at 3:30pm. I don't plan on leaving the airport. Her flight gets in at 8:35am from Lima Peru so I know I would have plenty of time to get to terminal 8. My dilemma is would I be allowed into terminal 8.

Transfering terminals
I am traveling with a dog on Delta which comes in at Terminal 3. The dog relief area is in Terminal 8. Will I have enough time to go to terminal 8 and back to 3 in 2 hours? Do I have to go through security again to transfer between terminals?

My daughter make a travel from Paris to PORTLAND (OR) and will come back from PORTLAND (OR) to PARIS via JFK. I want to know how many time to transit between Terminal 3 (arrival) and Terminal 1 (departure) in this airport.
