Hi I have a flight on Sunday the 28th with turkish airlines from Istanbul to JFK. Is it possible for this flight to get canceled because of Irene, since if the plane takes off it will arrive to JFK around sunday 3 pm?

I JUST heard from my friend who works in the airport that uve already closed the airport on SUNDAY. i was wondering if this is true and if so if the weather turns out to not be that bad will you reopen?
