re:need to get to the Edison Hotel on West 47th
Hotel Edison is located close to Times Square.
Take Airtrain from any terminal on track 1 to Jamaica Station( be careful - on that track there are two alternating trains going to different routes; check the sign above the doors as the train arrives; the red colored sign is Jamaica one). Then take subway line E to 50th street stop(cost:$7.25/person).
Walk on Broadway three blocks down to 47th St., turn right and hotel is half block down.
If you choose to avoid the public transportation there is an express bus(NYAS - New York Airport Service) that leaves each terminal every 20-30 min and goes to Times Square;it costs $15/person.
Yellow cab (from JFK to any point to Manhattan) costs flat rate of $45 + bridge toll($5.50). The price is for the whole taxi, not per passenger.

Taxi will cost $50 + tip.
Taxi will cost $50 + tip. Best if you have lots of luggage. Otherwise Airtrain to subway will cost $7.25: take Airtrain from terminal to Jamaica station, take E subway to 50th St., walk south on 8th Ave. to 47th St. and turn left. Hotel is between 8th Ave. and Broadway.
JFK to Bayridge Brooklyn
Could u pls advise on cheapest way from JFK to Bayridge Brooklyn (corner of 8th Av & 67th Street) or alternatively to a closeby subway station? where does the shuttle stops in Brooklyn? thank u!
re:JFK to Bayridge Brooklyn
Take Airtrain from any terminal on track 1 to Jamaica Station( be careful - on that track there are two alternating trains going two different routes; check the sign above the doors as the train arrives; the red colored sign is Jamaica one). Then take LIRR train to Atlantic Ave ; transfer to Subway N going to Coney Island and get off at 8th Ave stop. The subway station is on the intersection of 8th Ave and 62nd street so you have to walk south on 8th ave 5 blocks till you reach 67th street.

JFK to Bayridge Brooklyn
thank you very much! how far is the Airtrain from the terminals? can I reach it from inside the airport building?
re: how far is the Airtrain from the terminals
Airtrain station at T4 is the only one that is inside the terminal. The rest of the terminals have their Airtrain stations within 5-10 min walking distance(usually across the street from the terminal).

transfer
Hi.. arriving at JFK on wednesday afternoon (12th of may).. we need to go to williamsburg. close to nassau avenue... what is the best and cheapest way to go there?
thanks.
You have two subway
You have two subway alternatives. Take the Airtrain from your terminal to Jamaica station:
1. Take the E subway to Forest Hills, transfer to the G subway to Nassau Ave. That station is at Nassau & Manhattan Aves. on the border of N. Williamsburg and Greenpoint.
2. Take the J subway to Marcy Ave. That station is at Marcy & Broadway in the heart of Williamsburg.
Either will cost $7.25 total. My guess is #1 would be the best.
Is there an electric buggy
Is there an electric buggy available as an alternative instead of the wheel chair at JFK ?
re:Is there an electric buggy available
No, not at JFK.

Hi, I will be arriving at
Hi, I will be arriving at JFK (end of July) from Orlando via JetBlue Airways, ETA 6.31pm. I need to catch an international flight SQ to Frankfurt with ETD 9.25pm. There will be a number of luggages with me and family, and since we are not US citizens, I assume there might be additional immigration procedures to go through.
I have a number of questions: (1) after we collect our luggages from JetBlue, can we go straight to SQ check-in counter (2) what would be the arrival terminal for Jetblue and departing terminal for SQ, and how long would it take to get to the SQ terminal? (3) I heard that security screening at JFK is very tight. Do we need to go through the security again eventhough we arrive from Orlando? If we do, how long do we need to anticipate for the screening? (4) Is Jetblue usually on time, or do they have a track record of delay? If so, how long is the average delay? (5) assuming a normal delay of Jetblue, do you think that we have enough time to catch our SQ flight?
Many thanks for your assistance.
re:I will be arriving at JFK (end of July) from Orlando via JetB
1. Yes, but check with Jet Blue if they are not transferring the bags automatically to SQ.
2. Jet Blue Arrives from Orlando at Terminal 5; SQ departs out of terminal 4. On Airtrain it will take you no more than 10-15 min(including walking to the station).
3. Yes, you will go through security at T4 regardless where you are coming from.Expect additional 20-30 min for screening.
4. They are usually on time, but in aviation industry you can always expect delays.
5. You will be able to transfer even Jet Blue delays no more than 1 hour.

transport from JFK to Secaucus NJ
Family of 5 arriving to JFK on a Sunday morning in September 2010. We have accomodation at Embassy Suites at Secaucas. Could anyone please advise what would be the best way (?shuttle?? ) to go from JFK to Secaucus on a Sunday morning? Thanks
re:transport from JFK to Secaucus NJ
There is no direct shuttle from JFK to Secaucus.
You have two options: take a private car(~$90-$100) or take public transportation.
Here is how to go by public:
Take Airtrain from any terminal on track 1 to Jamaica Station( be careful - on that track there are two alternating trains going two different routes; check the sign above the doors as the train arrives; the red colored sign is Jamaica one). Then either:
-take subway line E to Penn Station(total fare - $7.25;~1 hour) or
-take LIRR train to Penn Station(faster;total fare ~ $12, less on the weekends; 35-45 min.)
From Penn Station take NJ Transit train to Secaucus Junction($4.00,10min travel time).
or
Take Airtrain from any terminal on track 1 to Jamaica Station( be careful - on that track there are two alternating trains going two different routes; check the sign above the doors as the train arrives; the red colored sign is Jamaica one). Then take subway line E to 42nd street(total fare - $7.25;~1 hour).
From PA Bus Terminal take NJ Transit bus to Secaucus ($3.20,30min travel time).
As per hotel the bus stops "right across the street".

Customs process
I have a 4-hour layover at JFK from Barcelona en route to Charlotte. Baggage will be checked thru to Charlotte. Travel agent told me I would go thru customs in Charlotte upon return, and not JFK. Does this sound right?
