History - Construction of the airport began in 1942 with modest ambitions. Only 1,000 acres (4 km²) of land on the site of Idlewild golf course were earmarked for use. The golf course provided the airport's original namesake, Idlewild Airport. First commercial flights began on July 1, 1948. The airport was formally dedicated as New York International Airport on July 31, 1948. It was re-dedicated on December 24, 1963 as John F. Kennedy International Airport, following action of the Mayor and Council of the City of New York, and a resolution of the Commissioners of the Port Authority. After the September 11, 2001 attacks, JFK was one of the first airports in the United States to be temporarily closed.

Short Term Parking question

A friend is flying out of JFK, Terminal 6 and would like to drive my car to the airport and leave the car in short term parking so I can pick up the car when I arrive on my flight later in the day at Terminal 4.
I'm not familiar with short term parking and want to be able to find the car...any suggestions?
Finding car in short term parking
I have done this many times in Columbus Ohio I have who ever leaves my car tie a helium filled balloon to it. They sell them everywhere it can say anything or just be a certain color but it sticks up high enough if you know the level and the section your car should be in just look for a balloon. Hope it works as well for you as it has for me.

My sister will be arriving
My sister will be arriving to JFK from İstanbul on December 7th with Turkish Airlines. (terminal #1)and the she needs go through customs at JFK and then she is going to fly to San Fransisco with American Airlines( Flight number:17) ( terminal #8).
She doesn't know english...Are there any service that can her assist her with the above.

JFK layover information needed
Hi, I am arriving at JFK on 16th Nov night (9:40PM) by Delta Airlines.
My next flight from JFK on 17th Nov morning (10:40AM) by Emirates Airlines.
My whole trip is on a single ticket, as the airlines share a code.
Now, as my layover is about 13 hrs, can I do a through baggage checkin, so that I can go outside the airport lighter.
If yes, how should I confirm that they actually have taken care of my baggages for the onward journey.
If no, can I collect the baggage(from terminal 3) and again check them back in(terminal 4, Emirates counter) on 16th night itself ? Would the Emirates staff be present at counter to collect my belongings ?
What is the airport policy regarding baggage check-in and how early can I checkin the baggage provided through check-in is not an option.
