JFK International Airport AirTrain
AirTrain JFK is the train service that operates between JFK
International Airport, Long Island Rail Road trains and New York City Subway.
It also serves as an on-airport service connecting the airline terminals, rental
car facilities, hotel shuttles, and airport parking lots.
Air Train JFK has
3 routes:
- Howard Beach route
The Howard Beach route ends at the Howard Beach-JFK subway station. It stops
at Lefferts Boulevard (connecting transit services - B15 bus) for shuttle buses
to long term parking lots A and B and to airport employee parking.
Connecting transit services: A subway train, Q11 bus
- Jamaica Station route
The Jamaica route ends at Jamaica Station on the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR)
next to the Sutphin Boulevard/Archer Avenue-JFK subway station (to Brooklyn
and Manhattan or Queens).
Connecting transit services: E, J and Z subway
trains, Q6, Q8, Q9, Q20A, Q20B, Q25/Q34, Q30, Q31, Q40, Q43, Q44, Q60 and
Q65 buses
Both routes make a counterclockwise loop through the airport and stop at each
terminal.
- Airline Terminal route
The Airline Terminal route connects 6 terminal stations (Terminal 1, 2-3,
4, 5-6, 7 and 8-9). Route operates in the opposite direction, making a clockwise
loop.
All JFK AirTrain stations are wheelchair accessible. Howard Beach subway and
Jamaica Long Island Railroad stations are wheelchair accessible too.

I need to get from terminal 3 to terminal 4. And I need to take my luggage with me. need help ASAP
DO NOT attempt airtrain
DO NOT attempt airtrain between JFK terminal 2&3. Airtrain only has one stop serving both terminals! The walkway between the two is easy with four motorized walkways. Do not attempt to walk between the terminals outside if 1) you have luggage; or 2) there is weather.

Airtrain is one of the options. It comes every 3-5 min and if you take any train at the platform it will take somewhere between 1min to 8 min to get to T4. The Airtrain arrives at T4 on the third floor - all you have to do is to go up one floor and find the check-in counter for the connecting airline. The second option is walking - there is walkway between T3 and T4( just follow the fence) and the distance is 5-7min by foot(of course depending on the weather).

If I ride the airtrain to Howard beach station, can I buy a 7-day pass overthere and ride the subway with this pass to Manhattan ?

Yes, there are vending
Yes, there are vending metrocard machines at Howard Beach. There is a clerk in a booth that cells metrocards as well.

Pick up from JFK
I want to pick someone up from JFK. Does anyone know if I have to pay the Airtrain fee twice? Or is there another way or special pick up fee?

Airtrain fee is paid as you enter and as you exit the Aitrain system (twice). There is no special pick up fee.

Hi I'm arriving into JFK on a Friday night into Terminal 3 (Delta) and need to get to the W hotel on 47th & Broadway. I want to take the AirTran but I am extremly confused on how to get there...Can anyone help?

W Hotel at that address is located exactly at Times Square. Once you exit Terminal 3 follow the signs for Airtrain; take it to Jamaica Station and transfer to Subway E. E line will take you to 42nd street stop which is Time Square. The whole journey won't take more that 1 hour and will cost $7.25 per person.

No, not at Jamaica Station. The closest baggage storage facility is at either Terminal1, Terminal 4(24/7) or Terminal 8.
