Bayside by LIRR
I'm going to be flying into JFK from Canada on a Sunday morning, I believe arriving on an AA flight in Terminal 8. I'm trying to plan the cheapest, fastest way to get from JFK to Bayside Station in Queens. Am I correct in thinking this would be the most economical option is to take the AirTrain to Jamaica ($5), take LIRR to the Woodside Station ($4.50), and then go from Woodside to Bayside ($4.50?). Wondering since I'm arriving on a Sunday, if I'd be able to use a CityTicket for the LIRR fares. Also wondering if I could just transfer at Woodside or if I'll need to pay a second fare to continue to Bayside. Am I correct in thinking this would be the most economical option or should I go by taxi/bus? Is luggage going to be an issue if I end up with one regular size suitcase?
time required from terminal 3 to terminal 1
I am arriving on a Saturday afternoon at terminal 3 on a Delta flight from Indianapolis, and departing for Rome, Italy on New Alitalia probably terminal 1. Will I have to collect my checked bags and go through security again? I only have 1 hour and 35 minutes between flights. How much time is required to walk between terminal 3 and 1 versus the airtrain? Thanks
re: time required from terminal 3 to terminal 1
" Will I have to collect my checked bags and go through security again?"
- it depends how did you check your bags in Indianapolis.
Ask Delta reps there before you leave.
"How much time is required to walk between terminal 3 and 1 versus the airtrain?"
- it is 10-15 min either way.

How long can I expect it to
How long can I expect it to take me to get from Jamaica station by airtrain to JFK terminals tomorrow afternoon? Thank you.
re: How long can I expect it to take me to get from Jamaica
It depends on which terminal you are going to. It takes 10 min for the train to reach the first terminal(Terminal 1) with one minute between every terminal afterwards.

Hi, I am arriving at 10 a.m.
Hi, I am arriving at 10 a.m. and depart at 5. p.m to Europe. Is there enough time to go into the city center and get an impression of NY ? Thank you
re: Hi, I am arriving at 10 a.m.
You need roughly 1-1.5 hours to get to the city from JFK.
Giving the fact that you flying out international, you will need to be at JFK at least at 3pm. To my estimate you will have around 2 hours to spend in Manhattan - enough time "to get an impression of NYC" :).

transit time
I plan to arrive at terminal 3 at 4pm on the 3.6.2010. Need to be at terminal 7 for a flight at 19:40. How long will it take to get the baggage and change terminals to avoid missing the flight?
re: I plan to arrive at terminal 3 at 4pm
You have plenty of time. It will take you no more that 45 min to get your bags and go to T7.

I need to know wich subway
I need to know wich subway line should i take to go from jfk to 57th street and 6 av, and also how long it´s that journey. Thank you!
Re: I need to know wich subway
Take Airtrain from JFK to Jamaica Station, then transfer to subway line E to Roosevelt Ave; transfer there to subway line F and get off at 57 Str. stop(it is exactly on 6th Ave). It will take you around 1 hour.
See the subway map at http://www.mta.info/nyct/maps/submap.htm

Hi, I will be flying to JFK
Hi,
I will be flying to JFK to wait for a family member coming to the States for the first time and cannot speak English. I will arrive at terminal 3 whereas he will arrive at terminal 4. Is it possible to wait for him right at the luggage claim area at terminal 4? And then we need to go back to terminal 3 to catch a connection flight to NC.
Also, as I said he doesn't speak English. Is that a problem? I mean what if the officer needs to ask him a question or so, is there a translation service available?
Thanks

Thanks,
