No, the Airtrain(+subway) is the slowest to get there.
Taxi will cost you flat fare of $45+toll($5.50)for the whole taxi.It is the fastest way and it will take you 35-45 min to get there.
There is an express bus called New York Airport Service(NYAS) that leaves in front of every terminal(it starts at 6am)and goes express to Grand Central. It costs $15 per person and it will take you 40min to 1 hour to get there.

Hi!
I arrive with Finnair to T8. I have 1 hour 15 min to transfer to AA flight to Miami at T8. Is it enough time to go through immigration. Where do I find the AA desk to check to my connecting flight? If I decide to take Delta to Miami, how do I get to T3? Thank you!

The counter is located right after you exit the customs to your left.
If you choose Delta, you have to take Airtrain on track 2 to Terminal 3.

I will be arriving at terminal 3 on Delta and leaving two hours later from Terminal 4 on Delta to Canada. I know there is a train between terminals, but is it possible or faster to walk between terminals?

And is the airtrain outside security so I would need to go through security again at Terminal 4?

Thanks!

It is possible and may be faster to walk between the terminals. The train is outside security and you need to clear security again at T4.

Hi! We're going to take a flight to Washington Reagan Airport at 8.30 in Terminal 3 JFK. We'll fly just with hand luggage.
2 questions: (1) what time should we arrive at T3-JFK before departure? [we are from Spain and we do not know the duration of administrative proceedings, in US airports], (2) how long does it take from Grand Central Station (NYC-Manhattan?
Thank you very much indeed.

1. Arrive at least 2 hours prior your departure time.
2. Taxi~40 min; NYAS ~ 40-45 min; subway + Airtrain~50 min.

janmac I am arriving at JFK on 22 May flight AA178 at 22.40. from san fransisco and transferring to flight AA116 leaving for heathrow at 23.25
Is it possible to transfer in this short time and which terminals and transfer arrangements will I use?

The connection would be in the same terminal - just look for the gate number(for the flight to Heathrow) after you disembark the plane. You have time to do that.

Hi, next Sunday my daughter arrives at terminal 3 and I arrive 1 hour later at terminal 8. Is the Air-train free of charge and what is a good place to meet in terminal 8?
thanks,
freemotion

Airtrain is free of charge between terminals. Good place to meet at Terminal 8 is by international arrivals on the first floor. There are chairs there and the place is not big at all.

Hello,

I'm arriving at 15:25@T3 - Delta flight from Montreal and need to get my connecting flight 17:45@T8 - Air Berlin.

Is this enough time?

thanks
Gernot

Hello Gernot,
You have plenty of time since you are arriving from Canada - there is no need to clear customs. Take Airtrain from T3 on either track/side to Terminal 8.

We're arriving to JFK on Air France flight, at T1, at 6:40pm and need to meet a connecting flight with Delta Air Line , T3 to Las Vegas which leaves at 8:30pm
Do we need take our luggage before customs and transfer ourselves to T3? will we have enough time to do this?
Many Thanks

If Air France is not late you will have just enough time to transfer.
You have to pick up your bags in order to go through customs and after that recheck them in at Air France Connecting flights counter.
After you exit T1, walk to your right to terminal 2(5 min walk). That is Delta terminal as well and you can enter security through there. T2 and T3 are connected.
