1) If you wanna use public transportation (it will cost you around $7 total) go to http://www.hopstop.com/?city=newyork to find directions
2) Otherwise try http://www.supershuttle.com/ $18
3) or take a yellow taxi $45+ $5 tolls flat rate.

There is a bus. But by the time you get to midtown(dropoff point)and change to a cab. You might aswell pay for a cab. There is a flat fee into city. So you won't get ripped off -- only take yellow cab from rank clearly marked outside. Safe as can be. Nyc is very safe these days. Take subway everywhere till at least midnight. After that, like most cities it could , but rarely is dangwerous. Enjoy

just in case you haven't rec'd a response, I advise taking the cab right outside JFK. No matter what terminal you come into, just ask security where the cabs are. JFK has one of the best set ups for cab service. The wait on the line is about 10-15 min until you get to the front of the line, but atleast it is organized and the cabbies are registered with NYC. A cab to anywhere in the city from JFK is about $35 dollars flat rate. I take this service to Manhattan quite often without any problems. Make sure you have the address in the village to give to the cab driver.

good luck :)

I like to use this shuttle: http://www.goairlinkshuttle.com/
They have the best prices-less than half what a cab costs though it takes a bit longer because they will be carrying other travelers too.

which airports can I fly to direct from JFk to Beach's in North and South Carolina??

emailing from England

Thank you
marion

Try flying to Norfolk, VA and driving south along the Outer Banks or fly to Wilmington, NC

for the carolinas....you should get good deals from jfk itself. i do know that there are good deals from jfk.

LAdams, OKC:

Any advice on the exact best way to get cheaply from JFK airport to Cape Liberty Cruise Terminal in Bayonne, NY, would be much appreciated.

Getting to the cruise terminal from jfk is possible using the airtrain to jamaica and then taking another trainf rom there to penn... from penn you would need to take the nj transit....followed by the nj-hudson bergen light rail...followed by the bayonne cab company to take you rite to the cruise... the travel would be the cheapest but pretty difficult if you have big bags to carry with urself. i would recommend a fixed fare cab that would charde like 65 bucks for getting you rite to your cruise.

HI,

Please advise if there is any public transportation (train, subway, bus) my family and I could use to get to our hotel near Times Square from JFK. We will be arriving at JFK early in the evening on Feb 1.
Thank you.

Getting to Midtown is easy. Once at the airport- take the Air Train to the Jamaica Station of the Long Island Rail Road- there are pletny of signs in the airport and peropl in red jackets and vests who can direct you. The air train is $5.00 per person and the ticket for the railroad is also seperate but check with customer service in the airtrain terminal, they may run package tickets. Take any train going to Penn Station- Once you are in Penn Station- take the 2 or the 3 (red line) subway one stop - uptown to 42nd street and you are in the middle- literally of Time Square. Should take you nore more than 35- 45 mins tops.

Taxi fares into Manhattan are regulated. Would cost a family of four about $50. Train may be difficult if you're not familiar with it. Buses run every 20 or 30 minutes, but would be separate fares for each and would cost as much as a cab fare. Consider a cab. Safe, fast, and the fare is set by law. Add 20% tip.
